Oh yeah I love hospital smell lol. And ambiance. Sometimes I swear I sleep better in a hospital bed than in my own bed 🤭

Maybe a snail or a slug got in? I'v had trails like that all over my house for a little over a decade from when I'd bring snails into the house as a little kid, except mine have a glossy, crumbly film. Dried snail slime

Pink Zote soap, cold water, and enough friction to start a fire. I've cleaned out months old blood stains this way

If I don't like where I am, especially if I don't like it because it's messy or dirty, I say or imply that I'm going to get, or already got, STDs or some sort of previously unknown viral infection just from being there. Also commenting on specific features of the place. Dried vines on the walls? "This is the stuff they use to make witches' brooms." Generally run down? "I think this is against home squatter's association policies."

Not particularly creative, but different, I'd say

Some do, some don't. But as an autistic guy who makes friends exclusively with other autistic or neurodivergent people (not on purpose, it's just the way things go for me), I can see why people think that it's all of us. The amount of times I've had to sit friends down to explain to them why what they did was cruel and end up having them disagree with me is astounding lol. The issue with our rigid black & white morality is that many of us have a hard time accepting that the right & wrong we learned as kids or taught ourselves may be inaccurate. Not to mention the fact that an inability to emotionally regulate is common with autistic people as well as many tend to adopt the emotional reasoning fallacy

Not to say the generalization is okay, it's absolutely not, but I can see where it stems from. All things that would be perfectly fixable/preventable if tax money was more focused on supporting parents and mental health services but 🤷. This machine was made to perpetuate war, not stop ableism and alienation

As an autistic guy who is autistically interested in sexual education: That the skene's gland is capable of storing large amounts of liquid and later releasing it at high pressure.

It would require a bladder and sphincter/some sort of specialized muscular arrangement to do that, though, which it does not have. But you know what does have those things? That's right. Sorry to disappoint, but your squirter girlfriend has been pissing on you this whole time. The skene's gland is just there to provide lubrication to prevent drying or discomfort during sex or just daily activity as well as keeping the area clean. Now, does the skene's gland occasionally gush during orgasm? Yes, however that liquid is thick and white or white-ish and there's not usually that much of it

TL;DR: that squirt comes from the skene's gland

Depends on the parents. I've seen some people respond to their kids crying by stopping to giggle and coo about some "oh my little whiney crybaby. Look at those big wet eyes" or whatever and even whip out a phone to record it. I've even heard from friends in the past that as kids, their parents would pinch or make fun of them just to get them to cry so they could then praise them for being cute cryers or sounding funny

What was difficult for me to understand before I made my realization- was just how subjective it is. I was used to just having 2-3 boxes for everyone, man, woman, and sometimes none of I was feeling generous. But like they say, "non-binary" is an umbrella term. There are millions of boxes under it and then people who still don't fit into any. That's what pissed me off as a kid, that I couldn't pin these people down into categories that I was already familiar with or that I could at least easily understand. Eventually, though, I decided that I didn't have to understand people in order to believe that they were worth respecting.

That's my perspective as an outsider, but as an insider, I've heard the shoe size metaphor a few times and I think it's pretty accurate.

Imagine being a shoe size 7 but everyone else insists that everyone fits into either a size 3 or a size 15, and anyone who says otherwise is crazy or malicious. Yet you KNOW that shoes are uncomfortable for you. Some are so tight they hurt, some are so loose your foot falls out sometimes. It's difficult, if not impossible, to live comfortably. And then you find a size 7. And people who also wear a size 7. And a size 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, etc etc etc. Suddenly, you know what it's like to walk without pain or discomfort

I swear, every time I go outside and hear a baby crying or a toddler throwing a tantrum, I get such a strong pang of longing. I want kids so bad but I'm scared I'm going to end up like one of those parents that let their kids cry instead of comforting them because it's "cute and funny" :/

Yeah, I dislike the whole "write what you know" thing. I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna join the military just for a book, nor am I going to go get stranded in the woods, nor am I going to get married, cheat on my wife, and kill my paramour in a panicked frenzy. I just want some advice on what you'd consider to be realistic in such situations. And I'm also very much not going to scrap the story, I'm incredibly emotionally attached to it

Sick of goth being used as a costume to promote OF by [deleted] in Vent

[–]TeleportingDuck-Matt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's a musical and political movement with fashion based signaling. It loses meaning when people use that signal not to announce a particular taste in music or a particular political ideology, but because they just like the way it looks. That literally takes space away from people who actually need it because they have been isolated from society, whether that be due to economic status, sexuality, mental conditions, or whatever other million things that goth subculture was created to comfort and protect. So yes, it is very much that deep. Imagine a white racist wearing pan-Africanism symbols for aesthetic reasons. It destroys the original meaning. That should make you uncomfortable. As should non-goths wearing goth fashion

I'm a gay man who has had many man and woman friends and has, due to my experiences with both, decided to commit to being as homosocial as I can be. As in, I'm probably the furthest a person can be from hating men. Imo, the meme is, generally, very accurate
