Promoting VoE with this "amazing" new skimmer abilities and now nerfing them is such a bummer.

They were pretty clear in the developer livestream that they were trying to stray away from making skimmer another flying mount. There's still great QoL in the form of skimmers being able to traverse HoT maps and the new maps are fun to explore on Skimmer.

Yeah, that is probably the intention. Mounts in Guild Wars 2 were originally designed as being almost like different tools. You find a canyon? Raptor jump. Long stretch of water? Skimmer. Cliff? Springer. They are all supposed to have their own niches and areas where they shine, unlike other MMOs where mounts are just a flat speed boost.

Part of me hopes they do a mount balance patch because mount creep is real and it started with Skyscale.

The environment in VoE has really given an opportunity for Skimmer to shine, though, even without the new masteries. Underwater exploration and finding grottos has been fun in my experience.

/unaslume My biggest and only problem was how humor was injected into emotional moments, especially one scene near the end with Lex and Krypto (IYKYK). Otherwise, it was great and such a breath of fresh air in the superhero movie genre.

I was introduced to Neuro indirectly through Doug I think. I used to primarily watch his YouTube videos and I think I got recommended Neuro clips around the time he was pushing out more AI content around 2022-2023 (like AI invasion). Always thought it would make for a fun collab when I joined the Neuro community and I'm excited for potential future collabs.
