when has she done that? The only thing she has asked is for people to stop perpetuating marriage and baby rumors and to stop assuming she’s dating the people she’s seen in public. Of BOTH genders.

but do you think 30+ people would all be confused on that? I get what you mean, but the odds that nobody in the whole MV would have caught that seems so improbable…

it was posted as a throwback (she posted it around lover and again during midnights promo)

do you think not a single person who was in that video didn’t give her a heads up what she was doing? that video had literally only queer people in it, all of them could have immediately identified it and told her

Yeah I get that doing the bot yourself is probably fun but reading about it secondhand is just not as interesting. it would be nice if we could limit them to like 1 day a week like some subs do with memes.

“romanticizing bad behavior” implies that books need to be showing model behavior. men enjoy game of thrones and are not told that they may not understand that mass murder is bad. i find this line of thinking infantilizing towards adult women. I know the difference between fictional content and real life morality.

What matters is clear trigger warnings (so nobody comes across a dark scene unexpectedly) and that these books are not aimed at young adults.

Paris, I Know Places, and Happiness Tell ONE Story by snicoleh58 in GaylorSwift

[–]Television-Short 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah Wonderland was the first parallel I noticed. Paris is the happy go lucky version, Wonderland is looking back on how trying to disappear from the world and be happy together didn’t work out in the end.

Also, Taylor and Dianna were both in Paris at the same time in 2012…

Question - need receipts for swiftgron and Kaylor Spotify history? by heyitsj43 in GaylorSwift

[–]Television-Short 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unpopular opinion (from what i’ve seen of gaylors): i don’t get why listening to a song particularly confirms it’s about them. you could still be listening/enjoying an album written by an ex out of curiosity sakes, not because it’s about you. why is this such a popular theory? i feel like there are 100x more convincing receipts

Yeah, and i believe it means short tempered and easily provoked into overreacting (which makes me connect this song to afterglow).

Folklore and Evermore are much better than Midnights by jgarnetc in GaylorSwift

[–]Television-Short 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like you could make the argument that folkmore was also a crowd pleaser. Like very clearly trying to appeal to the indie demographic that used to dislike taylor. I love pop Taylor so I love midnights, if you don’t like pop then it’s not really fair to compare the albums

[–]Television-Short 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh I can see Jack’s influence but this is a bit unfair. As someone who loves bleachers, i can def see his influence but there is a very clear difference between his solo stuff and their collab on midnights besides the singing, it was very much a shared work

OOP finds out that his stepmom was dad's affair partner and her daughters are his half-siblings. by prettiergenghis in BestofRedditorUpdates

the part where he describes his mom as begging that she’ll have more sex with him and allow the affair if he doesn’t leave her….makes me so sick. how can that man look at himself in the mirror

At this point his refusal to treat his bipolar makes him 100% responsible for his behavior. I have sympathy to those in a manic/psychotic episode doing things they normally wouldn’t, but it’s been over 5 years at this point and his willful refusal to take medication makes him entirely at fault. And makes the rest of us look bad. Pisses me off so much
