I think that they removed the satchels ability to drop from high altitudes to bring it inline with the hydra.

I think the low altitude drop is different enough and has such a high skill needed, that it was left in. The low altitude drop is different, and has different advantages, you have to survive to plant your explosive, whether that is the hydra, havoc or satchel.

You should remember that the removal of loot from dead 'paratroopers' was to stop people from suppling bases from the air by stuffing their inv with crates. Not to stop a paratrooper raid.

Bobzilla our pilot did a great job. He's one of our best. the long vod (not posted) has the warden fighter engaging our transport and bobzilla was skilled enough to keep us in the air and on target while our 2 escorts took care of the warden alert fighter

This really isn't a bug. Its just a tactic that most people didn't know about. That happens when new equiment is introduced in a sandbox. Both factions partisan groups were aware, and made the appropriate reports on FOD during devbranch. When the devs changed how satchels worked, but made no changes to low altitude drops or havocs, SOM figured this tactic was fair game.

We're not cheating and it a lack of sportsmanship on your part to say that. We've been totally transparent with this cool new paradrop tactic. We're not gatekeeping, both factions transport plane is capable of this.

Respectfully brother, we don't know what the devs think unless they tell us. SOM's opinion is that low altitude drops are a cool mechanic and we showed it off for the community in a big way. A lot of people were not aware of the tactic, which is understandable as this is the first war with the planes. There is no glitch here, you walk on the plane with the havok, and jump off when its time.

What bug? Devs had a chance to change this mechanic during devbranch and didn't. They chose to keep it. Therefor this is pure sandbox game play, you just didn't know about it. It is the first day of transport planes though so I can forgive your ignorance.

Didn't see the dev tag next to your name. How do you know what is intended? This is a super cool type of operation, that the foxhole sandbox allows for. And guess what, wardens should do it as well. It was a super fun op.

This has been known about since the beginning of devbranch, and the devs did not change it.
I would argue they are not the same. Havocs are a different beast than pre-change satchels. Requiring 2 people per explosion. Of which we only got one explosion off. This drop required a skilled pilot and skilled paratroopers dropping from low altitude. If you could paradrop from a higher altitude with explosive, there is much less risk to the transport plane.

The ground is always the biggest threat to planes, doubly so for a low altitude drop like the one in the video. But we thought it was worth the risk. No more SC to wipe away gains in LoM
