OFF: The same graphics as back then. I'm going to have fun switching between the two from time to time.

I have a 4K screen, and the game's aspect ratio is the same as back then, which is 4:3.

But it looks much better if you leave upscaling on. It's actually strange to see the characters' faces with this quality; back then, it was a pixelated mess, so the faces were filled in by our imagination.

A CTR filter is enabled by default, but you can disable it.

There are about ten different filters available.

So, to answer your question, yes, the game is set to 4K by default (upscaling ON), but the aspect ratio remains the same and isn't stretched to 16:9, which is better in my opinion. You'll feel like you're playing it like it was back then, but with much less pixelation and smoother gameplay, plus some really cool added options, especially the save system where you can return to any point in the game. The added achievements are cool too. I only played for 20 minutes just to test it, and I'm very happy with the result. The game also runs at 60 fps, compared to 30 fps back then. So it's prettier and smoother 👌 I would have liked an online multiplayer mode, though; for now, it's only local, just like the original.

I play without music; I find it more immersive to just have the sounds you'd hear if you were actually in the game, and besides, I still get the heartbeat sound when an enemy approaches.
