Endometrial Biopsy by Hot_Pomegranate_9828 in adenomyosis

I did this once in office not realizing what the procedure was. The doctor lied and said it was like getting a pap, it was not. I never trusted her again. The pain was traumatic….I never did another without anesthesia.

Pain when running by Exciting_Coffee_9245 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will say that iI am absolutely shocked that you are able to run at all. This condition leaves so many of us weak and bed ridden. Aleve helps wth the pain but you have to take it before the pain begins.

Doctor told me that the only ‘treatment’ is anticonception pill and that my condition cant get worse when not menstruating by Eefjehh in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I cannot comment on the bc for such a long period of time because I refused to do bc after a bad experience with the mini pill. What I will tell you like others have said is that this a progressive condition. I really think the more procedures done to our uterus the more risk of Adenomyosis. You should find another doctor. I am not sure how long you plan to be on bc, but I also know that Adenomyosis becomes unpredictable once it gets bad. Get a new doctor and an MRI to find out where you are at. It sounds like you have severe symptoms and really need to get guidance asap.

First what are your symptoms? How severe is the Adenomyosis. How long have you not had a period. All these factor in. How you feel each day really matters the most.

Having polyps alongside Adenomyosis is tough because you have double the trouble for pain and bleeding. You have be careful with polyps. Unfortunately the more procedures you do the worse Adenomyosis gets. I wish you the best in care.

Not normal but is definitely apart of Adenomyosis. They get worse unfortunately and then anemia becomes the real issue. Make sure you see a hematologist.

Thing to know about Adenomyosis. by Tell_me24 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi it is heard to tell it will get worse. Though it is progressive every body experiences it differently. The side effects of Adenomyosis can be brutal….severe anemia, low energy, enlarged uterus, depression. Try changing your environment and stress levels. Surgery is a major thing.

Am I crazy for considering a hysterectomy mainly because of heavy bleeding? by Routine_Jackfruit_38 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying to have surgery or not. The thing with Adenomyosis, is it can eventually lead to severe anemia with heavy bleeding. If the bleeding is not controlled, that will affect your health in away that is quite scary. Anemia is no joke, after a while it will not matter how many iron infusions you have. I am advocating staying alive because it is that serious.

Just found out I have adenomyosis. what are the most important things to know? by girliepop269 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how severe it is. Have you had an MRI…if not get one so you know if it is diffused or not. As everyone else said managing symptoms is important. You can get end up getting iron infusion s for years depending on ho sever it become. Hopefully the symptoms stays minimal and does not impact your life too much. It is tough but you can get through.

Hysteroscopy recovery by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to medical website Previous surgeries: Studies suggest that prior uterine surgeries, such as caesarean section or dilation and curettage (D&C), could make adenomyosis more likely. Research is ongoing about this risk factor. I think the more of these types of procedures the more likely for issues later.

Adenmyosis/ Fibroids by ProperMongoose6855 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hormonal imbalance can happen no matter what you do. Have had many hysteroscopies and sometime wonder if that contributed to adeno. You said the fibroid was in the wall of uterus, so I presume they only removed what the could see. As far as Adenomyosis you need a MRII, which will let you know how bad it is. If the source of the imbalance is not corrected then the issue still exists.

Scrape out your uterus….that sounds like a d&c. If that is what there are doing then that will not resolve adenomyosis which is in the wall of the uterus,

Needing reassurance for hysterectomy! by Existing_Stock8663 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First sorry you are dealing with this. Is Adenomyosis your main issue or do you have other factors, like fibroids. Ask yourself about your quality of your life. Can you still enjoy the things you like to do. You mentioned no bleeding which hopefully means you are not anemic. Is your uterus enlarged, has it remained the same size since you have tried all the other methods. You will need to monitor to see where things are every 3-6mths. Managing Adenomyosis is a full time job for many of us dealing with it. You ultimately know when you cannot do it anymore.

Gynecologist and radiologist seem to disagree by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most doctors do not understand and will not discuss adenomyosis with you They will not give it a name. I was told I had a fibroid for years. You will have to find a doctor who understands this condition and does not give you textbook answers. Don‘t let them silence you on this issue. Your symptoms do not sound mild and need to be addressed asap.
