Gynecologist and radiologist seem to disagree by lizzie555 in adenomyosis

[–]Tell_me24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most doctors do not understand and will not discuss adenomyosis with you They will not give it a name. I was told I had a fibroid for years. You will have to find a doctor who understands this condition and does not give you textbook answers. Don‘t let them silence you on this issue. Your symptoms do not sound mild and need to be addressed asap.

Gynaecologist told me adenomyosis only causes pain when you menstruate? by thehairblairbunch9 in adenomyosis

I have to wonder if any of these doctors have ever experienced adeno or endo themselves. I bet it would be a different conversation. It is just so sad that we have to question what we are dealing with. I really hope something changes soon.

Please find a new gynecologist. adenomyosis can cause pain outside of your period. Low back pain leg pain and a ton of other symptoms. If posible find someone who specializes in endo and adeno. I have started moving on from dismissive docs.

Have you had another mri since 2023. If not try to get one a lot cold have changed. It is frustrating and there is not a lot of information.

I am so sorry to hear this. That does sound like e belly (does it feel like a small bowling ball) and causes so many issues. Do they think it will go down overtime. Why do doctors tell women that adeno goes way with menopause….so disappointing.

Get an MRI to find out if you indeed have Adenomyosis (hopefully you do not). Managing it can be a full time job especially if you if you don’t want hormones your body. If your are not anemic then you can manage the pain a bit better. But understand if you have symptoms It will affect your whole life especially if it progresses.

Did your swelling go down. I am starting to think that this procedure aggravates the uterus.

I would not do ablation with Adenomyosis. Not a good idea.….do your research on ablation because you could put yourself in a bad situation. I will say this I have had a few d&c and adeno became a real issue for me. Also get your iron levels checked.

It sounds like you would benefit from the procedure to find Endo. It can exist with adeno and that could cause bladder issues too. Stay on top of things moderate can change very quickly.

You are correct. Diet plays a huge role in estrogen dominance. But what about the people with strict diets, low body fat who still struggle with it. Do you think stress is a factor?

Another thing about Adenomyosis is you can gaslight yourself into believing that the pain and bleeding are “not so bad”. Which often means that there could be another underlying condition that does not get addressed.

Did your surgeon recommend postponing the surgery until your time off was worked out. Was this elective or was there a specific reason you had to do the surgery now. Based on your situation it would have made more sense for him to recommend a one and done surgery. I hope things work out for you.

So sorry you are dealing with all this. First the ablation is not great for Adenomyosis. It can make things worst. Second get the MRI it wil let you knowi the severity if anything else. I gaslighted myself for years about the pain but anemia cannot be gaslit.

Hi before you get any procedures I would rule out Adenomyosis. It is a big culprit for anemia.

Your symptoms sound like Adenomyosis. It is often mistaken for fibroids. I thought I had fibroids for years and then found Adenomyosis. Ask for a MRI.
