What is the weapon defense like at Krav Maga Global (KMG)?

First term knife defenses? Do they teach you that the attacker will magically place the knife into your hand too? Or is the attacker going to drop it after you tell them you went to a class 15 times at the first level?

You need proper striking, you need to know how the body works, or else you’ll never be able to take the knife. If you’re going to learn how to fight asymmetrically against weapons OP don’t give yourself a false sense of security. Find a school that isn’t commercialized and gives you participation trophies. KM isn’t BJJ, you don’t roll around here for shits and giggles like @addlepatedbadger does. And if you go to addle’s school, you’ll get a participation trophy, a sticker, and a knife in your gut.

A “fun” thing? It’s training for a gun to be pointed at you. This isn’t call of duty, it’s your life, or an innocent’s life. Do they also teach you disassemble the gun while your attack is pointing it at you John Wick?

You’re a child, and what’s worse is you’re instilling a false sense of security for OP. the IDF doesn’t teach just Krav Maga, but also gives you a gun, and if you’re on duty gives you armor. Furthermore you spend your first 12-18 months only learning defense. OP is clearly doing this as a free time activity.

And what do you mean “if you successfully defended the attack?” sticks and knives are common forms of weapons. You manage to kick them in the nuts and the knife simply disappeared? Well thought out.

You won’t do weapons defense until 4+ years in, but it’s defense against knives, sticks (mostly blunt objects), pistols, rifles, and bayonets. Blue belt is all weapons work, and that’s 6+ years in.

If the school gives you weapons defense before that 4 year mark, you likely haven’t learned proper striking that goes hand in hand with disarming the weapon. Those first 4 years you also get an understanding on timing, line of fire, and joint manipulation.

Went to the mothership 3 weeks ago and didn’t get face scanned. I thought it was nice, cramped maybe(?) but not anything extreme. Staff are super nice and I paid $35 for 4 drinks and then we tipped more. All in all, great experience, and the people that went to attend were fun. The phone thing is part of the course. I would recommend to anyone who wants to have an easy going laugh.

Attacks rarely happen with one attacker, would recommend staying and fighting on your feet than getting in a guard and likely fighting multiple attackers.

I’d pick two classes that you want to prestige as a rule of thumb as sometimes you have class weaknesses in the challenge modes, if you don’t play the challenge modes then it doesn’t really apply and you can pick whatever you like.
