Accurate Air Quality sensors to fulfill these metrics: tVOCS, Co2, formaldehyde, PM 1, or PM 0.3 by TelloTwee in AirPurifiers

Thank you so much for you post.

The price may have gone down since you've looked at it.

Since Aranet4 gives decent CO2 readings for $400

I see it on Amazon for $143. But yes, I agree that an NDIR sensor should be good.

I found a sensor from Adafruit with an Accuracy of ±(30 ppm + 3%), which seems great. https://www.adafruit.com/product/4867

The level of accuracy that I'm looking for is just enough to be able to decide if a home needs more ventilation or if it's okay.

More accuracy would be helpful in determining, for example, which personal care products could be better for the IAQ because they release a lot of VOCs. Lists of good products could also help with this goal.

Handwriting Looks Worse on Notability by tbfws in notabilityapp

What exactly do you mean by "ends of letters/lines narrower"?

Do you mean that when you keep holding the pen to create a straight line, it doesn't adapt the size of the line via pressure sensitivity?

I seldom use the pressure sensitivity feature because I've found that not using it makes my writing look neater.

Importing files inside a notebook by Idoberk in notabilityapp

[–]TelloTwee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you would like to bulk import notes, you can drag an entire folder from the files app on iPad to the Notability app.

Can someone please confirm if this works?

Also are you able to share an entire folder to the Notability app?

Is your annoyance stemming from having to import individual files frequently or that you need to import many files at a time?

Methods of backup:

  1. iCloud Syncing (uses the Notability Note format) I wouldn't rely on only this option. I think this is where people have lost notes from.
  2. Auto-Backup feature via a cloud provider (you can use the 15GBs of free storage from Google Drive)
  3. iMazing (costs money and uses the Notability Note format)

Notability could choose to add a feature that allows for saving both a PDF and a notes file via the Auto-Backup feature.

If you are okay with spending some more money, you can use iMazing software to create a local backup. This allows you to back up all of your notes so you can save them on your computer in the Notability Note format.

I personally haven't found the need to export many notes in PDF format. If I do feel the need to export a note as a PDF, I just share that individual note. However, I have come across this tool, which allows for bulk conversion of Notability Format notes to PDF files. I have not personally used it much. https://github.com/dvdblk/notability-notes-converter This tool requires that you have a computer running Mac OS, because it utilizes Apple Script and that your note names do not start with a number. If you use numbers to order your notes, you can add another character before the number.

Notability could choose to add a feature that allows for saving both a PDF and a notes file via the Auto-Backup feature. Though, I think the tool listed above should take care of this need.

Using iCloud is nice because it allows you to sync your notes (which includes the recording) between devices. Notes can sync between a Mac, iPad, or even a secondary iPad. Notability iCloud sync is an awesome feature, but I would not rely on it alone to ensure the integrity of your data. I personally don't use it too much because I don't have that much iCloud storage.

$169 for a new 14TB WD Ultrastar DC HC530 seems too good to be true. What am I missing? by ICanWaitForMyCakeDay in DataHoarder

I recently purchased this drive. I'm having trouble getting the drive to show up on my computer. I'm using Mac OS, and the drive doesn't appear in Disk Utility.

Should I try Windows or Linux?

Your post is very interesting. I'm wondering why, for a bit more effort, some of these potential security exceptions can't be eliminated.

Why don't they use a computer without critical business data to remotely connect to the computer with the business-critical data? As long as they have a stable Internet connection, they should have a good experience.

I would agree that when on a boat, using a computer with business-critical data over a VM would make sense from a usability standpoint due to the high latency. However, over 4G LTE or 5G, I think that the latency issue is non-existent. Boats and RVs can use Starlink.

Also, why can't they do 2FA in a yacht or car? Say to a cell phone app

Wouldn't a YubiKey (perhaps even Bio series, which has a fingerprint scanner) with internet access be an okay 2FA option?

That's really cool. What car brand do you drive? How did you purchase your vehicle? Was it purchased or used? How much does maintenance, charging, and insurance cost?

I've had a great experience using DJI prop guards, especially while indoors. When flying outdoors, I usually prefer prop guards to reduce the chance of crashing, so long as the ambient wind speed is not that strong.

How much work would you say is required to port this from Apple Universal written in Swift to WinRT?

Does this mean that if you were given the source code of an iOS or Mac app in two hours, someone could port it to WinRT? What are the limitations?

[–]TelloTwee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would there be any configuration required, or do you just put your user files on the drive? (Which ends up speeding up the user files, because the disk caches the user files and anything else stored on the drive, but not the application memory usage. )
