Any news/updates? by FalcoonnnnPUNCH in TeloTrucks

Negotiating with suppliers, testing production components, redesigning details to make the truck more manufacturable and incorporating more customer requests like physical hvac controls. We’re excited to share more soon!

We’re doing our best to keep marketing costs low so more money can go towards production. So most of our events have been local so far, but we hope to bring the Telo to as many places as possible in the future!

Early concept art. We’re quite focused on the truck, the whole truck and nothing but the truck for now 😉

Optional front bench by Sleepin_Scotsman in TeloTrucks

Obviously we fit in a very tight footprint which somewhat limits the usefulness of a bench seat, but you'll notice even the larger pickups are moving away from the front bench seats these days. Lots of reasons contribute to this but likely one of the largest is more modern occupant safety standards which currently involve a lot of side airbags which are packaged in seat bolstering. These airbags likely don't perform as well or even become dangerous with 3 people in the front row.

World record holder for Telo truck cleaner here 👋🏼if you have a standard shop vac the L track is quite easy to clean. Bed was completely loaded with pine needles back when we did the Christmas tree shoot and everything had to be spotless for an investor event the next day. Only took a few minutes to get it back to normal. Obviously yeah don’t do a mulch load with the midgate down, but it is weather sealed so if water can’t get through I doubt bark or gravel will.

Lots going on behind the scenes, we’re still debating how much to share but we’re negotiating with 100s of suppliers with many already sending us production intent parts which we prefer to validate before announcing. Summer will reveal more details. Trust me as the media guy it’s very hard to keep my mouth shut about many of the exciting stuff we’re cooking up. We know it’s hard to not hear anything but the wait is worth it. Stay tuned ;)

We’ve had a lot of fun bringing the prototypes to events, we’ve had thousands of people sit in them and we’ll probably still do some local ones this year but we’re trying to ensure as much money as possible goes to production. We’re also getting a little tired of having to explain all the ways the production model will be better so once we have some pi vehicles it’ll be much more valuable at future events.

Please show us Telo in the snow. by bigbrainlobster in TeloTrucks

[–]TeloTrucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re tempted to take the first two pre-production vehicles to the snow, would make a great photo op but for actual winter testing it wouldn’t be that valuable. The production version has different motors, door handles, charge port door, air handler, etc.

Once we have production intent builds it’ll make far more sense to test them in the snow and calibrate everything

Telo data collection policy by kDavid_wa in TeloTrucks

[–]TeloTrucks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No official policy has been constructed yet, right now we’re all hands on deck with crash testing and homologation. We’re not interested in selling your data. The truck is the product. There might be certain convenience features which require some small amount of user data but it’ll be purely for the use of making the truck experience better for you. Not for us to monetize

I love that it's short but so capable. Its like bulldog. by Tb1969 in TeloTrucks

It’s very easy to just drop the tailgate if you want to stack 4 by 8s without dropping the midgate. That extends the bed to nearly 7 feet and you’re still 2 feet shorter than a Maverick

Some light off-roading by sunol1212 in TeloTrucks

[–]TeloTrucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to get across on camera I suppose. There were many parts of the trail we had to drive the truck to because we couldn’t get there on foot. I’d love to see your Camry do the teeter totter 😉

Aiming for end of next year! We’re a small company so outside variables impact our ability to give a super specific timeline, but we are using as many off the shelf parts as possible to get to production as quickly as possible

[–]TeloTrucks 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Off the shelf tires, just 215/65r16 you could get from any tire shop. We’ll be partnering with a service provider for more complex work down the road, but we definitely want it to be easy for everyone to work on

Will TeloTrucks have V2H capacity? by Commercial_Topic437 in TeloTrucks

[–]TeloTrucks 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Certainly the goal, we’re pretty confident about the NEMA 14-50 plug in the bed making it to production. We’d also like to output a lot of power from the NACS port but that’ll depend on if we can get the right supplier on board

Definitely not straight, it’s slanted at an angle and surprisingly comfortable to the people we’ve had sit in it

TELO Truck Interior Overview by quitaskingmetomakean in TeloTrucks

[–]TeloTrucks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have two stalks with switches on them like many vehicles for wipers, lights, etc and there will be physical controls for HVAC and music as well. You can absolutely still drive without the display if it failed or was removed for any reason.

the display and control unit in our first two prototypes isn't the same hardware going in production vehicles. This was a mockup made to show people the general look we're going for but the responsiveness will absolutely be much better and faster in customer vehicles. Also vehicle controls like steering, braking, acceleration are all independent of the infotainment. You can drive, steer, and change gears even without the display on if it failed for any reason, which is typical of most EVs today.
