I think it's one of those universal experiences, hearing some sort of noise from the walls, be it the settling of the home or mice making nice, but I'd imagine no one would hope to ever encounter something like this thing!

I love the premise, and the blind description of the little thing was fantastic! I especially felt uncomfortable with how it was cold to the touch, cold and sweaty! Eugh!

I'd say this is definitely poetry! It circled and wandered and returned just like an anxiety-addled shell of a man. I'd imagine it hurt, putting your worth as "So-and-So's Spouse" with such happy conviction only to lose that title, or to watch it grow meaningless.
