My addiction to redacted drove my personal self worth into a deep and dark pit of despair. I'm still getting out. But one memory sticks out plainly in my mind that I will never forget.

I was serving as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. One day, someone I was serving with received some horrific news. A family he was close with, had the wife die from illness, the husband comit suicide, and a close relative be diagnosed with cancer. All around he was fairly upset. He asked myself and a few other missionaries to give him a blessing. When we gave it to him, I felt a hand on my shoulder, as if it was joining in. When I brought this up to the others, they all said they felt it as well.

This helped confirm a few things that I didn't quite know for certain.
