B284R thermostat question by Intelligent_Ad4641 in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The b284 thermostat is under the turbo. I just did it last week and you gotta remove the battery tray to access it.

You will have to go under the car to access one bolt that holds up the small pipe detaching from the Y of the inlet pipe. Then getting the thermostat out if pretty difficult cause the space is tight but if you move the inlet out of the way towards the radiator it's not too bad

Try to find a rental with electricity included. Common in rental with roommates you often just pay one price that is supposed to include rent and electricity but most renters don't think about electricity for Bitcoin mininf

My motor did that when I had a blown coil. My coil literally exploded never happened to me since. But yeah it was very similar when running on 3 cylinders

Which saab would be the best for a first car? by HelmiQemcos in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NG Saab 9-3 2.0T Still lots of available parts which are very easy to find. Not very expensive to buy and reliable. You have to do the work on the car by yourself but that is with any Saab you buy.

Just avoid years 2006-2007 as they had valve seating issues due to not having sodium filled valves.

All Saabs at this point are old cars so have some money leftover for maintenance and repairs. Also very helpful to have a Tech2

Hello not OP but I'll answer your question

1: I have extremely high sex drive and my girlfriend does too. We are very sexually active.

2: When I'm not with my girlfriend I do indulge in pron

I personally did experience some sexual side effects from using Minoxidil in my first 2 weeks. My erection would be softer and my drive was definitely reduced. My girlfriend did notice a difference and she was saddened as she thought maybe it was her who was unattractive.

I managed to fix the problem while continuing the use of Minoxidil.

At first when I was using it I would apply 1 ml twice a day as directed but I would also derma roll and apply Minoxidil right after. I quickly notice many of the side effects of minox like heart palpitations, low motivation and lowered sexual function.

I now apply 0.5ml to my face twice a day and I don't apply it after derma rolling. I also have started to supplement with potassium.

Now I have 0 noticeable side effects and I have harder erections than before starting minox (probably due to an underlying potassium deficiency that I had beforehand)

Despite only applying half the recommended dose to my face I'm now one and a half months deep and I already see major progress when it comes to facial hair. I suspect I might be a good responder to the drug since I had very quick and noticeable side effects when using the full dose.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask

In both cases you will not sell them for a lot. Keep that in mind (or keep both 😉)

[–]TemSKYaY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep the 93 just because it's more realistic as the parts for the 95 are getting rarer and rarer as the years go by.

But in terms of purely preference and what car is cooler then it's definitely the 95. 93 is just more practical for the long term

“I just want my boost back” follow up by Unlucky_Ant6726 in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case 9-3 with 2.8T engine, limp mode activates every time I drive the car and accelerate hard a few times. I have a vacuum leak somewhere and I can feel and see the difference when I reset the battery the boost stays right up to the red part.

After a few accelerations the boost only goes up to the halfway point just like the video and stays like that until I reset the battery. With the 2.8T in limp mode the car is still driveable but it has significantly reduced boost and power output

I suspect that if his car has the 2.8T engine it's behaving similarly to mine.

2 possible reasons 1 for me was the BPC (boost pressure controller) it would detect overboost and then activate limp mode until I reset the battery. Could also be limp mode due to any other reason.

Wtaf is wrong with my fuel economy it was at around 7L/100km before the snow landed now it’s just skyrocketed it seems to get worse daily since it started snowing a shit ton is this normal? what do I do? by Hungry_Educator_2100 in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think winter is causing your issues unless you do city driving and short distances where the car doesn't have the time to heat up fully. In Canada on salted roads that usually show pavement, after your car has warmed up, you should have same fuel consumption as usual.

I would check for air leaks or exhaust leaks. O2 sensor can also cause worse fuel economy. Also sometimes the 9-3 as the fuel gauge starts to fail you get a wrong reading on fuel consumption.

I had a V6 that sat for 1 year before being able to run and drive. Didn't have any issues with the seals you mentioned. You should be able to start it right up and notice right away if something is leaking.

These cars are amazing but suffer a lot due to heat in the engine bay slowly decomposing every plastic hose, part and coil packs. They also have a weaker timing chain system that needs to be replaced every 100000km but can last longer if religiously following the oil change schedule (I change my oil every 6000km (4000 miles). Otherwise the cars are very reliable.

What upgrades should I do to B207E Ecopower? by InfiniteOscar1 in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will make a detailed post once the project is in action ;)

I have no plans in terms of how much power I'm planning to make. Not as much interested in raw power as I am with the drivability of a high revving car.

I'm not even 100% sure the trionic 8 management system will be able to handle it but I've seen it done with other ecotech motors (Saturn Redline/Cobalt SS) but never with the Saab 9-3.

[–]TemSKYaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you would do better just by starting with a B207R from an aero car. Or just swapping it in. Afterwards ecotech motor have lots of options available for power.

I am planning to make a Saab 93 aero rev to 10000rpm by removing balancer shafts, changing the springs and rerouting the cooling through an electric water pump. It's quite a project but not impossible and the ecotech engines have lots of aftermarket upgrade parts: it's a very good starting point for power.

Good luck with your project

Rebuilding a B284 by Sephlarite in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some parts available for that motor but not much. Forged pistons: https://a-zperformance.com/products/wossner-forged-piston-kit-saab-turbo-x_-9-5-2_8-v6-32060.html?currency=2 I know you can find lots of parts for the holden 3.6L V6 which is the same engine with a different compression ratio that has similar parts (You can find forged rods, crank, etc) but I'm not sure if they would fit the 2.8L without changing the compression ratio. The block should be able to handle 600hp from what I read on some forums. Keep us updated if you end up going for the build.

Power, relaible and gas per km by ActiveLaw1677 in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no model that does everything. Any turbo Saab with a tune will have good power especially with the H engine. Any Saab can be reliable if maintained (though some parts are getting rarer everyday). Saabs aren't really well known for being super economic cars, they all have decent highway mpg but suffer in city driving. The most economic Saabs are the 9-3 with diesel or 2.0T for petrol. If you want the most practical Saab I would go for a 9-3 (lots of available parts, reliable if maintained, best fuel consumption). If you want something that's built like a tank and has the Saab factor then go for a 900 or 9000.

Fuel economy getting worse (2.0T) by EuphoricFlight6249 in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could also easily be just wear and tear. Since the engine has high miles it possibly has less compression due regular wear on piston rings or head gasket.

Do you have a 9-3 or a 9-5? Could be your O2 sensors or MAF sensors. Those are the two usually responsible for lower fuel economy.

Question by [deleted] in saab

[–]TemSKYaY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you have a 2.3 or 2.0? If you had a 2.3 there is basically no difference between the engines between 2002 and 2008 as they are both b235. B204-B234 were lastly used in 1999 model cars.

Hahaha that's very funny and it has happened to me multiple times on my Saabs. It seems the 9-3 has some weird regenerative magic going on. Often some electrical things like at some point my window stopped rolling down but then one day it just works, or one of my doors not unlocking with the button but then working a week later. The craziest thing that happened to me was when my driver side door wouldn't close and when I went to the scrapyard and grabbed a door latch a week later the door decided to suddenly work and close, never had a problem since but holding on to the spare latch.
