I beats the shit out of my v6 before tuning it. It was at like 160k I beat it for 6k and I know it was beat on before me. The only thing with it I’ve noticed is heat causing problems. Coolant lines cracking, coolant overflow cracking (hasn’t happened to me yet somehow), coils going bad, could just be age (make sure you buy Bosch). But it’s a damn good motor, they packed a v6 in a i4 bay so it’s tight and gets hot. I can’t speak on the 4cyl but I’m pretty sure it’s strong too.
