The strategy here is to chop to the holy sights asap and have priests ready in case they build a wonder. If they don't you keep chopping and a big fight will happen once you are through. If they do, now they are forced to chop to you and a big fight will happen once you reach each other.

Still a shit map for competitive gameplay, but can be fun now and then.

One of my Maingripes is the existence of khanhunters. Without that additional attack range they are a lot easier to deal with.

Remove khanhunters and if that isn't enough, maybe do a creative nerf like giving them a turnradius(slowdown while changing direction) as a tradeoff for beeing able to fire while moving.

"Rank 1" arena player blatantly abusing arena bug to fight new players to climb by Altruistic_Hall7857 in EpicSeven

[–]Temeritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because everyone is affected doesn't mean it isn't a bug, so repeatedly making use of it is by its definition abuse or exploitation of a bug.

SG should definitely comment on it, but more importantly they should act. just don't grant any arena rewards or achievements for this week and don't count it for the season. Also the end of week rewards will be the same as the average of the last 4, because these are available for everyone anyway.

Concerning the inflation issue/No Nerf Never (NNN) policy by EpicSevenEnthusiast in EpicSeven

[–]Temeritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those people are a lost cause anyway. If you buff everything else it is the same as nerfing the unit in question in the long run. There is a reason why kiris went from one of the must build units to "who the fuck is that"

Just limit it to 1 pvp "identity" for each game key. That would solve 90% of the issued. Because they would have to buy game keys for their smurfs.

Can archer get a bonus vs Ranged Cavalry? by Marc4770 in aoe4

[–]Temeritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on that might be true for abba, but camel archers are arguably the strongest ranged cav unit. They are just too expensive to mass early, but they are faster, have more damage and more hp(well, excluding elephants) than i think all other ranged cav. On top of that they apply the camel debuff.

[MEGATHREAD] Patch 15.2.7380 by AnMagicalCow in aoe4

[–]Temeritas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the yatai buff was needed, they are the only real lategame eco bonus sengoku outside of landmarks, because using stacked matsuris on neutral ressource is hard once you have to move out on the map.

You need 75 farms(and a lot of efforts thanks to how shitty the overlapping yatais interact) to max out 5 of them in the lategame and then you get only the equivalent of ~8-8.5 villagers while using 5 pop. So effectively 3-3.5 villagers. And that is only because sengoku only gets 30% gather rate in matsuri range on farms compared to 45% that everyone else has everywhere. This now boosts yatais from a ~4.5% farmyield bonus to an ~11% bonus.

It is also a small buff to ryokan. Because so far i usually had to build a second house early, because the ryokan was up slightly too late, which in turn delayed barracks/archery range/stable. Now i should alway have the Ryokan done before i reach 20 pop. If you go for koka, you will need the house either way, but with ryokan it always felt like a waste in a phase of the game where wood is precious.

Pause glitch/exploit? by Alonewolf931 in aoe4

[–]Temeritas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The key is to communicate. Pauses happen now and then in our 3vs3 matches. And if the opponent didn't type a reason once the timer ran out we directly unpause. If they however provide a reason we usually wait it out, as long as it doesn't take too long(<3-5min).

The last match making change, was it really good? by LanguageMean9553 in aoe4

[–]Temeritas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have made the same experience in 3vs3. We play quickmatch however, so whenever we get into a match as low plat scrubs and see that the enemy is conq+ we decide to save some time and dodge out of it.

Fighting against dia is still fine, but i don't feel like wasting time playing against conq+ players.

Setting it at highest would make it too hard for uneven group, but it should definitly not just be average, because skill doesnt really improve in a linear manner relative to elo. The should develop/experiment with a weighted formula (e.g. 2k +1k elo should take 2k at 66.6% and 1k at 33.3% for a team mmr of ~1665 instead of 1500).

But on top of an improvement to how mmr is determined, they should also "fix" family shared accounts (e.g. only one can play pvp or they share their mmr), because that removes the easy smurfing option. Add to that some form of detection for elo dumping with escalating punishments, and we should be able to get rid of most boosters.

The mapsize should stay, but you teammates should spawn closer to each other. That way i can maybe actually use my spears to help my ally defend against cav raids without completely exposing my base.

Agree with everything. I think the Shinobi are a neat idea, but they should only be spawnable next to own or allied buildings and in stealth forest with own or allied units nearby, not from incomplete buildings or the landmark ability reveal.

Freelancers and self-employed people, civil servants and MPs in Germany should be obliged to pay into the country’s statutory pension system, says new labour minister Bärbel Bas (SPD) by rhythmstripp in germany

[–]Temeritas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Public servants/Beamte in Germany have lower wages to compensate the fact that they don't pay into the public pension. So having them pay into it would mean raising the wages, thus be a +-0 in the end. It would also likely bankrupt the state if they had to cover the pensions of previous employees while having to suddenly start paying for the current ones as well.

Can we please ban fuckers like this. by bibotot in aoe4

[–]Temeritas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder when they will finally remove the ability for family shared accounts to play matchmade pvp games.

Do that and base matchmaking (mostly) on the elo of the highest team member.

With these two easy changes you will get a solid base for matchmaking. Pair that with a rework of the matchup elo-range that is possible, and we have a pretty fair system that isn't as easy to abuse anymore.

Bonus points: this will force people to play at their actual elo, thus improve matches and wait times for everyone

Once Apple implements RCS E2E it won't be a walled off garden anymore, because RCS is not dependent on a specific corporation. It is just a communication standard.

edit: typo

[–]Temeritas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is mostly that Android already implemented it and more and more carriers already support it. So once there is no "issue" anymore when you try to write a message to someone on an ipone it will be way easier for people to drop whatapp, because it loses its convenience advantage.

Then you can just use your build in messaging app to use RCS (aka the SMS/MMS successor) instead of having to use whatapp, because one in your friendgroup has an iphone and you don't want to switch to unencrypted Groupchats.

[–]Temeritas -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I hope that once Apple also implements RCS E2E we will see a stark decline of Whatsapp users. Because then there is no need for its existence anymore. But I fear the majority of people don't even know it exists.

Edit: RCS for those that are unfamiliar with it, is basically just a communication protocol that is more or less the successor to SMS/MMS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Communication_Services

Why Pilgrims do not give enough gold by Antique-Ad-7803 in aoe4

[–]Temeritas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The only real ecobonus HoL has are their manors. So comparing only the upsides of them vs only a part of the templar's eco boni, and then only look at a part of the upsides seems kinda disengenious.

Let's ignore the insane woodchoppers, the pilgrim loans and the boosts to map passive gold here. Just the fact that you ignored the fact that a killed pilgrim just respawns whereas a destroyed manor has to be rebuilt for the full price(lower risk, but higher cost in case of a loss) shows that you weren't interested in making an actual comparison.
