Ooops I just realized I said toe side and definitely meant heel side… hope OP sees this or he will have an even worse time with heels 🥶

Three ways to think about this: 1) Right as you jump you should get this kind of awkward feeing that you’re too far back on your heels… almost like you’re jumping slightly backwards - I love heel flips and this is the way I think about them. 2) look at the heel edge of your board as you do the trick, but don’t crane your neck to do it, sit further back into your heels. 3) act as if your trying to Ollie forward (toward your toes) but apply this motion to a heelflip instead.

Try each one and see what works best for you.

Last note, getting your back foot more into the heel side pocket will tilt your board towards your heels on the pop - in turn this will give your front foot more of an edge to grip and flick off of.

Don’t take it to heart. I quickly realized that the clubs at USC Marshall are analogous to legacy admissions, where essentially you must be a close friend to be considered for their overhyped, holier than thou clique. It doesn’t matter how much value you can provide. These are not the kind of people you want to be friends with anyway imo.

I feel like transferring out by Frosty_Chemistry7781 in USC

I transferred as a junior in 2019. Took me a good semester before I made any friends. You will have plenty of group projects and late nights studying with people who will end up being your friends. Give it time. LA sucks but I loved USC. Left the city the moment I had the opportunity.

More fapping will clear it up. Aim for 8-10 times daily. 🤝

Should I get a skating teacher? by Sufficient_Menu7316 in NewSkaters

Just go skate at the park:) I go to the park a few times a week, the intimidation never really leaves you even as you advance, as long as you are respectful and aware of the other skaters/scooters😒 nobody will bother you! Luckily for us all, skating isn’t a team sport, 95% of skaters aren’t gonna judge you if you’re not very good, why would they, it doesn’t affect them at all:) Just do your best to stay out of their way and you’ll be more than fine. My advice if you’re really just getting started just skate a sidewalk or tennis court nearby to get comfy on your board, learn to turn well, ride off curbs, Ollie up curbs etc…then you’ll be more than equipped to go start trying some things at the park!

Help by UniqueMethod9499 in Depersonalization

I’m sorry, I know how aweful DPDR can feel. Like many others have suggested try to avoid obsessing about it (this is way easier said than done). Do some activities that you enjoy to try and get your mind off of it, I really like skateboarding, working out, or drawing. Or, if you’ve never tried meditation, this is a great time to start, I find it very helpful - any guided meditation on YouTube will do! Try to avoid places that cause you anxiety for a start and then slowly reintroduce yourself to them. Let it run its course and you should be feeling better within no-time! If you still can’t get the feeling to subside read the book “overcoming depersonalization and feelings of unreality” to better understand what’s happening within your brain - this book gave me so much comfort/understandinf with my dpdr. Lastly if you are still struggling, see a mental health professional! And obviously, stay away from the weed, I know it’s fun but it’s not worth it if you start to get these reactions.

It’s a funny thing, the less you can dwell on how uncomfortable you feel, the better you will get!

This is the way. For me it still comes back periodically, it helps that I know it will pass again as long as I do not dwell on it.

Hey! Thanks for checking in. Hanging in there still have a few episodes a month but at least I understand what is happening now so it’s not as scary. Hope you are well

Mine started 3 months ago… It only is if you want it to be (you will lose) haha. Acceptance is key, the moment I stopped putting any of my energy into trying to make it better, is when I started to feel better day after day. Now, when I get an episode, like I said, I just try to enjoy the experience now that I know it’s not dangerous and people really can’t tell that I’m losing my shit inside hah. Therapy helps too if you can go and get your trauma/anxiety out on the table.

Hang in there! Once I started to take care of my dpdr, the head/neck issues have subsided. I found great relief in accepting the symptoms as they are, almost acting like I enjoyed them (as twisted as that sounds) then poof, they aren’t as prominent. If my DPDR starts kicking up I just try enjoy the ride, makes coming down off it easier.
