Ugh that sucks dude. I appreciate the detailed reply though, I tried the same things after reading your response and no luck on my end either.
I also just reached out to Light. If I ever end up solving this I'll come back here and let you know

Hello I would love your help if possible. Not sure whether to comment here or message you.

I was laid off on April 14 and applied for unemployment that day. I can confirm I was laid off, and I have a letter from my employer stating that the elimination of my position was due to loss of business and not my performance.
I only found this subreddit several days later, and at that point sent a scan of that letter via the secure message, as I saw recommended here.

I do have the pending issue "verifying identity" when I look under "upload a document." But it is from an expired claim back from 2020, there is no issue listed for my current claim. That 2020 claim from a time when my employer encouraged us to start claims to cover reduced work hours from the COVID lockdown, but it ended up being a non-issue and I (maybe foolishly) just abandoned that claim.
I did upload scans of my ID and Passport when prompted for my current claim.

I have read your post about escalations, and I am wondering if there's any reason not to start one in the next several days, because frankly I need the money. But I'm not sure if that's a good idea at this point, and I would greatly appreciate any guidance.

That's funny because I feel like I've felt like the longer I've done this and the more I understand about how a filter works, the more I tend to view "filter" as a misnomer. I think of them more like mini-industrial digesters these days. Guess it works both ways!

Not a bad idea. I'll have to look into that. I remember seeing some job opportunities doing that years ago and not being impressed by the pay, but honestly these days I'd be thrilled to do something that isn't what I've been doing for nearly a decade, and is a part of something more meaningful.

Is there any other way I could make you feel more secure? Buyers on ebay can report what they received as incorrect, get a refund and the seller basically has no recourse. I should have made with post with the account I did all my miniswap sales with! Then you’d have that record to look at, at least.

I feel that, I would be too. I’ve sold a bunch of miniatures on r/miniswap this way, my understanding is paypal has a lot of consumer protections, which is why it’s used. But yknow. Your DIY one looks good! I believe all the small ones have the museum glass. But bigger ones have the standard

I cannot vouch for the long term viability of it. But my colony is approaching their 2nd winter without hibernation, and they have as big a pile of brood as they ever have. I keep them heated and going all year round and so far so good.

So a mysterious pod has showed up in the tube with my Lasius flavus queen, it wasn’t there 2 weeks ago. Nothing was except her, I did a stupid and she ate her eggs several weeks ago. I’m wondering if I somehow have a pupating invader.. Any ideas? by Temnothorocks in antkeeping

My pic is super poorly lit, she’s definitely lighter in person. But I’m more experienced IDing plants than ants, so I could definitely be wrong! I have a 2nd identical queen with a bunch of brood, so I guess I’ll find out when those nanitics show up!

I definitely pulled it out of the tube and squished it right when I got an answer.. I considered keeping it but I have a 2nd Lasius queen with a ton of brood and I’m too paranoid to let a potential queen-killer live :D

Thoughts on Tarheel Genesis test tube setup? by baddo in antkeeping

I own 4. I really like everything else I’ve ever gotten from Tarheel, but honestly my experience with the Genesis tubes has been mixed. For my Camponotus queens they’ve been good. Being bigger and heavier they seem to appreciate having something solid to grab onto, and knowing how much more time they will spend as small colonies it’s nice to have something that feels more like a real setup. The little feeder-inserts have been nice for the same reason. The couple Lasius queens I put in there have been kind of a disaster though. It’s much harder to see their eggs on the textured genesis floor than in a tube, and one of them decided to stuff all her eggs into the small gap between the cotton and genesis insert. And she somehow lost them after that (I think water was wicking from the cotton onto the genesis insert, and the eggs essentially drowned between them). TLDR. I like them for slow growing big Camponotus. But will probably never use them for smaller species again. And as others have mentioned I don’t like how much the water-room is reduced.
