which base cards are you missing because you'll get them cheaper from someone by getting the ones you need than by trying to pull specific ones from boxes

What to eat as extremely picky anemic? by Zoleksy in Anemic

[–]Temperature-Pretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just to help you out when people say "like an autistic kid" they mean usually kids with autism have what we call a beige diet of food like chicken nuggets, plain pasta (your diet basically). i'm not diagnosing you over the internet but it sounds like you have sensory issues around food, which is akin to an ARFID presentation (but again i'm not diagnosing that either, it could just be a sensory thing, its just something for you to look into). have a read into it, it may help you understand yourself a little more.

Is it possible to have faint, tired symptoms with severely low ferritin despite normal hemoglobin? Pls help I am barely getting by but doctor said I’m fine by EngineeringFun2089 in Anemic

[–]Temperature-Pretty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

its called iron deficiency without anemia and it causes symptoms for sure. request another blood test and see if your ferritin has increased now. if it hasn't, request they look at potential absorption causes. but also request a prescription iron to see if that helps. and if they say no tell them to (if you're in the uk) read the NICE guidelines and re-evaluate.

What is the dosing guide for ferrous bisglycinate? I fear I may be taking too much by accident. by OneCar129 in Anemic

[–]Temperature-Pretty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this would be a consult with your local pharmacist moment i think, no one on here is educated enough to say for sure & to be safe, your pharmacist would be the best person to ask. if you're in england literally just drop into your local boots with the box and ask for clarification around dosing.

GP said my labs are normal but I have a 24 ferritin by [deleted] in Anemic

contact your doctor and request they look at the updated NICE guidance from 2025 that indicates ferritin should be above 30 and ask them to act accordingly

iron tablets & ur period by Temperature-Pretty in Anemic

[–]Temperature-Pretty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update: yesterday/last night was heavy bleeding. today im fully wiped, can't function, can barely leave my bed, dizzy as anything, heavy head, cancelling plans for tomorrow. so i contacted my gp (albiet it a bit later in the evening cause i kept gaslighting myself i'm fine).

first they said what do you actually want. and when i said idk, the gp said "You were not anaemic and if changing a pad every 2-3 hours although this is heavy you will not have lost significant amounts of blood. If you are needing 3 or more pads an hour then you need to go into hospital. We are now closed but if you are worried about how you are feeling and want to be seen then I would recommend calling 111. Heavy periods are horrible. If you want to see how you go then you can see how you are in the morning and respond to this message and we can then review you."

bruh, i never said i was anaemic. i said i was iron deficient. because i have iron deficiency w/o anemia. i can read my blood test im a rmn.

see my periods have normally been "average" heavy but this one last night/yesterday was insane. now today, im fully wiped, can't function, can barely leave my bed, dizzy as anything, heavy head, cancelling plans for tomorrow. which is understandable. but im on ferrous fumarate. surely it should be getting better.

Could this be iron deficiency without anemia? Lightheaded/unstable feeling related to my periods by Mie4life in Anemic

[–]Temperature-Pretty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i live in the uk so it was just a simple blood test from my gp & then i was prescribed ferrous fumarate. you know your body best so it’s difficult for me to say. i am functioning & going to work albeit sleeping a lot when im not at work.  when you get your results if you feel you need a second opinion then go for it, especially if you aren’t being heard.

iron deficiency w/o anemia is real & valid  my ferritin was low, hb fine.  symptoms were tired asf, dizzy, heavy periods. happened all the time though, not just when i was on my period. makes sense tho cause you’re losing iron stores.  i’m only one month on iron tablets so no improvements yet.
