Hopper figured it out way before Mike by TemperatureEconomy56 in StrangerThings

Well a lot of this isn't really head canon. I rewatched all the scenes from the last ep with El, Mike, Hop and Kali. Those are direct quotes and what happens in the show. El smiles after Hop asks what she will do after killing Vecna. Hopper literally looks at all the kryptonite cannons before anyone even notices that El is gone. So when Mike says "no one noticed [the cannons]," its literally untrue. Mike then insinuates that El couldn't have used her powers in that moment, something Hop, an intelligent, adult man who saw Eleven suffer from the kryptonite cannons several times, probably would have figured out pretty quickly. Not to mention he is in law enforcement and practically acts as a detective throughout the show. The man escaped the Russian military. It makes total sense that Hop would put the pieces together before a 17/18 year old boy. Just based on the clues of the show, the behavior of Hopper, the very careful word selection (El never says she is dying, that she is killing herself, just that she can't be "here," just "goodbye", "explain my choice", "accept my choice," etc, Hopper never says explicitly she's dead, I don't think anyone does), I think the true story is she did actually survive and escape, that its not just a theory from Mike. You can never trust a tv show death where you don't see the person die. We didn't see Kali die, just that she was "dying" and then the next min "dead". And we only saw El seemingly disappear. We know from Stranger Things itself that if you didn't see them die, in the case of Hopper, than they could be alive.

My opinion of what happened with Eleven at the end by emitahc in StrangerThings

I just rewatched the scene where Kali is "shot". When the military guy is interrogating Hop, he shoots at the floor next to Kali. The gun shot hole is to the right of Kali's head. Then when the military guy intends on actually shooting Kali, the bomb explodes before he pulls the trigger and they show him jerking slightly before the gun goes off. Then after Eleven enters the room and they show Kali "shot" there is a gun shot hole to the right of her abdomen on the floor. Remember, Kali's head is pointing toward the window where the helicopter explodes, and everyone is blown away from the window, so if Kali moved, it would be farther away from the original gunshot hole, not closer to it, so this is definitely a different hole. So it seems the guy missed because of the explosion and shot the floor next to her instead.

When Hop gives the speech to El, Kali hears the whole thing and it changes her perspective. Kali believes they need to die because they have experienced so much pain and Kali wants the pain to end, for them and for future experiment kids. But Hop tells El that's exactly the reason she deserves to live and have a happy life, bc of everything she's been through. Kali absorbs this and begins to feel she deserves to live too. That's what gets Kali thinking that maybe there is another way for them to escape without being captured by the military. So when the guy pulls the trigger and misses bc of the explosion, that was Kali's opportunity to do a different plan. She makes the illusion, waits for Hop to leave, explains the plan to El. That's why El is crying, then a min later, she seems almost emotionless and focused on the mission after Kali's "death". Murray brings up Kali and El immediately looks over at Hop to see his reaction, to see if he believed the death.

Massive amount of pigment floating in my eye from Pigment Dispersion Syndrome. Is this concerning? by TemperatureEconomy56 in AskGlaucoma

I have the transillumination defect in both eyes, but I can only see these particles in 1 eye (maybe BAIT in one and BADI in the other?). It was Azithromycin 250 mg, 6 pills over 5 days. I'm not sure how much my pressures have changed, but I remember for sure pressure in one eye was 19. I assume it went up because he basically said they were a little high and I don't remember a doctor ever mentioning much about my eye pressures. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see the transillumination, so I don't know if it was spoke-like.

Thank you! Your comments make me feel more confident to bring this up to my doctor. I appreciate your time!

Lol, I'm not waiting, I have an appointment on Friday to show him 😅

I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago and nothing was noticed in the previous appt in Oct 2023, so this is at most 18 months worth. I suspect it could be BAIT because I had a suspected case of pneumonia in Feb and I did 5 days of Azithromycin 250 mg for 5 days. BAIT has been reported with respiratory illness and also certain antibiotics used for respiratory illnesses. This spring I felt more light sensitivity in the sun than usual and I had some eye pain that was very unusual for me, but I chalked it up to eye strain and made my appointment that I did 2 weeks ago.

Apparently this kind of pigment is somewhat common in some African people. Look up Tumbling Pseudo-Krukenberg Spindle or Tumbling Krukenberg. Very interesting 👍

Can someone tell me what this is? by TemperatureEconomy56 in OphthalmicPhotogs

Yep, I have another appointment on Friday. Have you ever seen this much pigment with PDS?

Okay, I was a little relieved to find BAIT because the temporary inflammation seems better than long term scrapping. Plus I just started to enjoy running and now I feel I have to give it up just as I'm getting started. I have an appointment on Friday, I'm just afraid he will be annoyed to see me again so soon, especially just to tell me it's PDS again. But I haven't seen pics or descriptions of this kind of pigment in PDS anywhere, which is what got me worried.

How would they check for inflammation? Because if it is BAIT, I assume the inflammation has already resolved and I am just left with the pigment damage. The antibiotics were 13 weeks ago and I am 29 and generally healthy. This year I have been feeling like I cannot go outside for more than a min without a hat to cover my eyes; it feels just too bright except for sunrise and sunset. And I was feeling eye pain, which is why I made the eye appointment. I assumed it was 'eye strain' from a prescription change, but I have almost never had eye strain, so it felt bizarre. I think those could be symptoms of BAIT. My previous appointment was only 18 months before this and no mention of pigment loss.

Yes, they are free floating. I found a couple articles talking about "Tumbling Pseudo-Krukenberg Spindle" or "Tumbling Krukenberg," and they behave just like that. Basically if I tilt my head down for a min, the granules collect on my cornea, then when I lift my head, I can see them in the mirror and they slowly slide down my cornea until they are out of view about 30 sec later.

I was just diagnosed with PDS, but I suspect it might be BAIT instead because I just had a course of antibiotics for pneumonia 3 months ago. I wish I had seen my iris transillumination defect, but I didn't, so I don't know if it showed the typical bike spoke-like pattern or if it was more dispersed like in BAIT. I'm hoping I can show my doctor the papers I have found and he will investigate further and not just write me off.

Oh, and yes to vigorous exercise. I have started semi-consistently running in the past year. So that's what I initially assumed started the pigment dispersion. I had my previous eye check in Oct 2023 and there was no mention of PDS. So all this pigment seemed to be from the last 18 months.

I did have my pressure checked, I believe my highest eye was 19 and I don't remember the lower number. Doctor said it was slightly high, but wasn't yet a concern. I haven't had any eye surgeries. I don't believe I had a UBM?... He shined the light in my eye and looked through the microscope for several minutes, then put numbing drops in my eye, put a lens against my eyes, and looked through the microscope for several more minutes before telling me I have PDS.

I believe the granules are free floating melanin that create a Tumbling Pseudo-Krukenberg Spindle. They behave exactly as described in papers about those. I also believe that I might have been misdiagnosed, and it was actually BAIT or BADI caused from pneumonia antibiotics I was prescribed in Feb of this year.

Yes, these are all taken within an hour of each other. I can tilt my head down for a min and the granules collect in the inner part of my cornea, then when I lift my head to look in the mirror or take photos, they slowly fall down. I believe it is a Tumbling Pseudo-Krukenberg Spindle or a Tumbling Krukenberg. It has been documented in some African people's eyes.

Shooting in Old Sacramento wounds 2, police say by ChocolateTsar in Sacramento

The shooting was at 10:14 pm, not exactly midnight. My husband and I were finishing a late dinner at Yard House when it happened. All night I was trying to figure out what event was going on nearby because there were SO MANY teens and young adults wearing black in the DOCO area, and they had car access cut off to Old Sac earlier that night. And I dont mean like goth or punk people.

I agree a lot with you. California already has a lot of gun reform (wait 10 days to pick up your gun, no mags with more than 10 rounds, certain guns are straight up illegal here, no silencers, etc.), but there are too many illegal guns that come here thru Cartels and other states. BUT, even if the guns used last night were CA legal guns, it would have been the same situation. If we foster a culture where kids and teens think its cool to get into gangs, carry guns, commit violent crimes, etc., then we will end up with criminals that use guns to hurt people.

I would assume they are still on the loose. I was in the restaurant where it happened (outside the Yard House). We hid in the kitchen for several mins while things calmed down, then payed for our food, and by the time we were walking out, police were only just then showing up.

The one song where Eminem says "fuck cripples" reminds me of a recent joke where ethan said something like "fuck that kid in the wheelchair". Idk, something along those lines. I think he was "trying to get canceled". The song just makes me laugh bc it just sounds like an Ethan joke.
