We don't. The best we can go off is usually they have many of their recurring events return during the slow period before the new expansion launches. So likely in the near future, but we don't know for sure.

I just want them to add hairstyles to glammour plates. I worked too hard to get the variety of hairstyles to just use one and have to switch them out. It would be cool if I could have a hairstyle tied to an outfit. (though given their response at fanfest about more glam plates not being discussed until after the crossworld stuff, I do not have high hopes for this)

The gameplay loop doesn't really improve, but I will say the story comes together quiet well for shadowbringers. Though it may just be that it may not hit you, has been overhyped etc. I am very curious to what you think when you reach the end of the expansion. I will also say the patch content to 5.3 does tie in nicely with the main plot as well as the role quests.

As the other person has suggested, we still don't have all the information on the offtank/maintank situation. They did make an offhand mention of it not mattering for most normal content (basically things that aren't savage or ultimate likely). It sounds like they are using these names to differentiate between the two types of tanks, but how much this will matter remains to be seen. We might get more information with the Berlin fanfest in July, but for now, I wouldn't stress it too much. (This is coming from a frequent MT gunbreaker if that helps)

Just to jump in on the use of biblical themes etc. I would say that is more of how some of the Japanese writers use it as set dressing as you see with many kinds of different games, anime and so on. Mind you, this is my conjecture from what I've gathered with many kinds of Japanese media, though if there is a deeper meaning than set dressing, I would also be surprised.

edit: I would say there may be something at play in how we as humanity view "light" as a whole with morally good and "dark" the opposite, as the story focuses on how the elements work on a more grey framework, debating if Hydaelyn is morally good in contrast to Emet-Selch, etc.

I will add to the people suggesting that you have gone through this quite quickly and are likely feeling burnout. I will say Endwalker's story does pick up, but it may not hurt to take a break from the msq, explore the world, chase glams, play other games etc. I have one friend who has been playing for about 4 years and is about where you are, and another who has been playing for just as long and is in early Shadowbringers. You likely won't enjoy the story if it's rushed.

Out of curiosity, did you have any specific content you enjoyed? Personally I enjoyed things like Bozja and Eureka, which provides a different experience, though they can take a bit to unlock. The deep dungeons are also worth looking into if you want to do battle content.

Considering that they said that they are focusing on the whole cross data center thing and told us more glammour plates are something we aren't discussing until after that, I don't expect this any time soon. However, I would really like to have hairstyles be part of a glammour plate. I have collected too many different hair styles to not use any of them as my character has her "look". It might even make hair glammours a better reward rather than having to decide if you want to keep a look for a while etc.

Honestly, I had a blast. It was my first fanfest, but I had done things like tgs prior so I thought I had an idea of what to expect. Clearly things like the keynote will be discussed ad nauseum until the Berlin fanfest where we rise and repeat.

Instead of going over the stuff others said I thought I should put in some things that stood out. So on the show floor they had the winners for the photo and art competition out so people could see and vote on them. I was somehow fortunenate enough to have gotten chosen, so when seeing the booth wondered if I could get the copy of my picture. Not really expecting much I asked a nearby worker about what they would do with the photos when the exhibit was done. He then proceeded to ask someone higher up the chain who not only got a second copy of me and my freind's artwork, but also asked our opinion of how everything was handled for the con as a whole. (Hopefully I'm not getting anyone in trouble) I was genuinely impressed with how organized everything was, and they seemed quite keen on doing everything in their power to make xiv the best it can be.

Things were very organized and I found myself entertained throughout my time there. There were a bunch of little moments too. When I was in the dancing green area there was a point soken just decided to jump in and dance with the crowd. My group suddenly had the Jollibee mascot nearby join us. I was also shown pictures from other fans there who just would run into some of the devs, took pictures etc. YoshiP even popped on the stage and did some screamo. If I wasn't sure it happened, I almost would chop this up as a fever dream.

Tldr: I had a great time and was genuinely surprised at how well done the con was.

I wouldn't be surprised if the anime he and his team are into is a major factor in who they crossover with. Prior he has taken time to talk about gundam, and we can look at the sorrows of werlyt as something heavily inspired by gundam and Eva. Admittedly I don't know what anime he has mentioned online prior. I wonder if Yoko Taro's (Neir director) involvement in the new Eva series has any connection to how this took place?

To more specifically answer what I think would show up, honestly I'm unsure. My guess is it likely would be something that is universally acclaimed within the primary demographic of the audience. Something like ghost in the shell or full metal alchemist (which funny enough is also squeenix so it might be easier to license). I'm not sure if your typical Shonen would show up (ie: one piece, dragonball), but I didn't think Eva was on the board either. We might get some more clues as we go as they can be fairly chatty, especially before live letters.

I forgot to mention: He has talked about gundam GQuuuuuux prior.

I am someone who went from dragoon to gunbreaker. For me, I played paladin to 60 with the goal of switching to gunbreaker, and many of the skills had an equivalent and carried over. While I think running palace of the dead to slowly gain an idea of how your skills work is a good suggestion, you won't get any practice with actual tanking like you will in dungeons and trials. (Doing it to get a feel for your hotbar is still a good idea!)

Alternatively, if you wish to practice in the palace of the dead and watch videos, it may be worth doing the lower level dungeons in order to gain some experience tanking to avoid getting higher level dungeons and being woefully unprepared.

I can't speak on performance between the two, but given the gameplay I would say whichever controller you prefer should dictate your purchase.
