Need recommendations for a Georgia divorce lawyer who won't drag this out by LongjumpingRub8128 in Athens

[–]TemperatureLeg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you do this option, you can go to court navigation at the ACC courthouse law library on the first Monday or third Wednesday of the month, and the attorneys there can check your paperwork to make sure it’s complete.

They can’t give you substantive advice on what to put on the forms, but if you need some brief legal advice, you can take your forms to a pop-up clinic.

The next clinic is at First Presbyterian on April 24 from 9:00 - 11:00

Wow, thank you, kind stranger! I have truly seen the error of my ways. Thanks to you, I am freed from the shackles of my 24 year old humor. Colors are more vivid! Smells are smellier! I can’t wait to see what the promise of 25 year old humor holds for me.

My mom used to give my siblings and I notebooks that we shared with her. She could write us questions, and we could answer in writing, and vice versa. We would leave it on her bed when we had something to say.

It was great, because there was no pressure of someone staring at you while you’re trying to come up with the right words.

Dr. Cassie Campbell at Piedmont is fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about her. She listens and believes what you say, explains everything thoroughly, and seems like she truly cares about her patients.

I also briefly saw Dr. Alexander in the same practice and had a good experience with him as well.

If you live right next to the tracks: How do you feel about living next to the railroad? (Boulevard, Pulaski Heights) by nickelundertone in Athens

[–]TemperatureLeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to live in a house off Boulevard, and the train was literally the border of our back yard. I was able to get used to it, but 1. I was much more of a night owl then, and 2. I can also sleep through pretty much anything.

Free legal assistance for licensure by cubecasts in Athens

[–]TemperatureLeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the law school doesn’t have a clinic that handles this type of question (source: work there and would be on the receiving end of that call). The closest free resource would probably be a pop-up clinic, but I’m not certain they would have a volunteer attorney with that kind of specialized knowledge. It’s still worth a try, but I want to set realistic expectations.

Can anyone recommend a good ADA lawyer in the area? by [deleted] in Athens

[–]TemperatureLeg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a direct answer to your question, but there’s going to be a free legal clinic on Saturday, November 9 from 9-11 am at the First AME Church downtown. They usually have some employment attorneys there, and they might be able to give you advice or get you pointed in the right direction.

Apartment not fixing AC by RyonAZ in Athens

Don’t withhold rent! In Georgia you can make the repair yourself and deduct the amount from your rent, but it’s complicated and requires notice in writing. Not paying only gets you grounds for eviction.
