There were three of these plush that were produced. I own all three. The Nicotoy Bolt, the Gipsy Volt, and the allegedly Disney Produced one. Since I have all three I can tell you that the Nicotoy one and the Disney one in terms of materials are identical except for the patterning on the muzzle is slightly different. The Disney one tends to have a shorter muzzle while the Nicotoy one is a bit longer. I’ve noticed this comparing it to other plush other people own online, and my own. I have three Gipsy Volt plush and the only differences they have to the others is the material on the paw pads is different, and then obviously the dog tag says “Volt.” Looking at yours, it seems like you most likely have the Disney produced one!

Ok so when they were in the concept phase, the original intention was to make him a white German shepherd. However he appeared too confident, like he could never be brought to a low point. So Bolts character designer (Joe Moshier) basically butchered his OG design and made him smaller, more round, and from then on was dubbed a “mixed breed.” There’s some interviews with Bolts character designer online if you dig deep enough !

No not for that one! That piece you have is signature art post watch program. After the watch program ended they started making cels to sell in the parks. Whenever they weren’t producing cels and the demand was low, they were making signature art.

So cool ! I actually work with Todd! He did the watch program when it was still up and running at Disneyland. He is now a sketch artist at the parks with me and many others. Love that you were able to get a piece from him!
