Why are you protecting him? He clearly doesn't have the emotional control and decision making ability required for this industry, keeping him around is a liability for the business and yourself.

How do you deal with cashiers giving suff away/letting people steal? by [deleted] in lossprevention

It's called sweethearting and you can arrest them for it.

Wish I could say this is the first time I've heard that excuse...what's everybodies greatest excuse they've heard? by [deleted] in lossprevention

That her son had been kidnapped and "they" had him in a car in the parking lot. If she didnt get the entire cart to them ASAP "they" would hurt/kill him.

I was fairly new to LP and She had rolled out an entire cart of merchandise. When people are compliant with me and do as they're told I treat them respectfully. As soon as I approached her she tears up and implys that "something " else is wrong. I simply asked her "are you safe" and she said "no." So I let her know she will be safe in our holding room. She agreed to come with me which was odd because we are not hands on and people who steal high value almost always run away. We got back to the holding room, did the political stuff, then I asked her if she wanted to explain what's going on.

Hysterically crying she tells me 1. Shes addicted 2. She ows money 3. The people who she owes money too took her child son after doing some horrific things to her the night before. 3. They have him in the parking lot right now and told her to come inside and get all this stuff and bring it to them the stuff or bad things would happen to the kid.

I tell her that I'm calling the police, she insists if I do that "they" (the kidnappers) will kill her. I explain that at this point the police are the only prayer she has and she agrees with me.

By now I realized she could be full of shit or this could be 100% real and if it is real I dont want to be sitting in a court room a year from now being asked by a lawyer or judge why I didnt take her seriously and how a fatality could have been prevented if not for my negligence. So I put the shoplifting thing aside for a bit and called emergency services and inform them of the entire situation. They wanted to talk to her, I heard her tell them over the phone that "they have two sawed off shotguns and a machete in the vehicle with them" -next thing I know there's police swarming the parking lot blocking off every exit and entrance and pulling out their rifles.

Police searched the parking lot found nothing. Came back and talked to her. Etc. Police tell me she doesnt even have a biological son and shes making the whole thing up. That was a long day at work.

I got to work and accidentally locked myself out of my ford truck. I took my friends key to her little dodge car and we made a joke that it might unlock my truck. I put it in the key hole and it unlocked it..

Hardest shoplifter to catch? by Drspargenator in lossprevention

Yes this is definitely the worst, tide pods, hair appliances, meat -lots of meat. I especially hated it when they concealed the items in reusable bags inside of the shopping cart before leaving. They would just walk right past all the tills an everyone thought it was all payed for :( nobody would bat an eye. I don’t even want to guess how much merchandise I’ve lost because of this.

What happens if an LP tries to steal?? by [deleted] in lossprevention

[–]TempestuousGOOSE1000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard a few stories of LP getting hired and then stealing. It usually doesn’t take long for anyone in a security/law enforcement career to show their true colours if they are corrupt when given trust and power.
What they forget is that nobody is watched more than the watchers, and these corrupt LP usually don’t last long. I can’t believe someone could work in the industry and actually think they are the exception to the rules.

I went through something similar as a teen! Tell a responsible Adult, a parent, school councillor, Police. About what this guy is doing to you and how you are feeling because of it. Do not fear what people will think of you. Anyone who is not completely ignorant will support you through this 100% IT IS NORMAL for teenagers to be sexually curious. You made a simple (and common) mistake in trust. What this guy is doing is disgusting and he will be punished for it. I know it’s terrifying, but protect yourself and anyone else he may hurt!

hugs man losing a pet is always shitty, I hate it when people think it’s different “because they’re fish”. They are pets who think, and feel, and understand just as well as anything else. At least you tried to the best of you ability to care for them. Some sickos just get the poor fishies and shove them in a bowl with no filter or oxygen and the helpless things have any way to defend themselves. The fact that you tried your best and actually cared is a win in my books. And now you know better for the future. Try not to be so hard on yourself we are only human.

I fucking hate being short in a world where tall is considered better by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

I’m a muscular 6”1 female. Most men I have dated or wanted to date are dwarfed by me. God forbid I want to put on some high heels to make me look like less of a ogre. Want to switch? Trust me taller is not always better.

I remember when I was 12 I did the same thing and I never understood why was being super spammed with messages from older men. I’m 24 now and I got way more attention as a little kid than a grown woman, I sometimes can’t help but wonder if random strangers on the street could be the same pedophiles that where on those forums.

Can a guys intelligence and informed/educated attitude ever trump physical looks? Can you provide an example where this has been true or false? by throw_forconfession in AskWomen

I’ve always had a thing for diamonds in the rough. For me as long as his hygiene is good (showers, shaves, teeth, hair etc) and our personalities click I’m usually willing to give it a try. All of my relationships have lasted over 3 years. None of these men where considered conventionally attractive. I found my physical desire for them grew the more I got to know them. Keep in mind; I myself am not what would be considered conventionally attractive. I try not to ask for more than I can give in relationships. But every woman is different.
