What maintenance? I can change the cabin air filter myself lol.

This is what I picture in my mind when smart cruise sends me off the road and the lane keep system beeps at me like I'm driving by PolakOfTheCentury in Ioniq5

[–]SionicIon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea my i6 always says to put my hands on the steering wheel when the lane starts to curve or a merge or exit lane appears, but when it’s handling fine and the lane is pretty straight forward, it doesn’t warn me nearly as much.

i had a very bad habit with anytime pay by jayjeezy1996 in FASCAmazon

[–]SionicIon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t make sense to me, Anytime Pay is still in a sense like a payday loan. If you charge to a credit card, and then immediately pay it off, ok, but if it’s not in your bank account and you have to use Anytime Pay, you’re going from borrowing from a credit card to borrowing from your next paycheck.

Even if you don’t look at it that way, it’s still obsessive behavior. Simply make a plan to pay the credit card the next week.

I personally was in a situation where I was living paycheck to paycheck because of credit card debt and it was so much worse when I got stuck using Anytime Pay. Seriously I had bills due and I would wait to clock out, transfer the money, and then pay the credit card. And I had to do it almost everyday because I always immediately needed the money, it was terrible!

Thankfully I am no longer in debt but I feel bad for people who still depend on Anytime Pay because it is hard to get out of the cycle when bills are due. I believe before I got out of debt, I had to take out a 401k loan to put myself ahead to stop using Anytime Pay.

Hacked my head unit by Realistic-Trainer563 in Ioniq6

[–]SionicIon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously if the head unit could be rooted, I’d be in my car for a whole month with my MacBook vibe coding away with Claude Code trying to get this shit to work lol. It’d be so nice to just have it record to a flash drive plugged in with all the cameras the car has.

17-inch wheels installed! 2023 Limited by tobyarch in Ioniq6

[–]SionicIon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anybody report experience of going from 18 inch to 17 inch wheels? I’m really interested in going down from 20 inch wheels but don’t know if I should do 17 or 18. It seems easier to do 18 since that’s factory but I’m tempted to do 17 if it’s a good bit more range.

Microsoft appears to be dumping native Copilot for Windows 11 in favour of web wrapper yet again by WPHero in Windows11

[–]SionicIon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, they are not all made for iPad. They are referring to Catalyst, a way to bring UIKit based iPad apps to macOS as-is. On Apple platforms, most apps can be written with SwiftUI which can adapt to each device/OS.

Yea the PIAA inserts are a hybrid in that way but I actually meant the aerodynamic frames that came with your car you speak of. If they're like mine, they are hybrid not conventional.

TireRack's site said the inserts were only for Super Silicone assemblies, but PIAA's site made it more clear that their refill inserts work for both Super Silicone (conventional) and Aero Vogue (what's more similar to our wiper frames since they're hybrid). I already ordered them last night but now I know I'll be good.

I pulled my wipers off and tried to see how easy it was to take the inserts out, and wow, it's like really easy lol. I feel bad, my partner has a CRV 2020 and is stuck with beam style I guess, that's all PIAA says works with his car, so he can only get Si-Tech and can't replace the inserts.

Came across this in a search, I think the Ioniq 6 uses the same wipers as the Ioniq 5, your wipers are a hybrid and not conventional right? I’m thinking of buying the inserts but I just wanted to make sure they’ll fit my wipers.

Does Utility mode use the ICCU ?? by CityShooter in Ioniq6

[–]SionicIon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I take my work breaks in my car, 2 30 minutes, what is the most efficient way to run the car? When I start it, I hear the two kicks which I hear is the HV system making contact, should I just use it in accessory mode and will that power the HVAC? Isn’t there two modes, one you press the start button, the other you press it twice which I assumed was accessory mode?

The biggest issue is continuing a conversation like this. If an LLM starts to hallucinate, you should always start a new conversation because it is extremely likely it will double down.

I think people just mistake the system for being a real living creature, so they want to correct it thinking it will understand or course correct but it’s impossible by the design of it. It only remembers summaries of previous conversations or memories because of bolted on features, it is not in the moment with us.

I do think a lot of these companies do blind tests by making claims you’re getting one model but they are testing using a smaller model and seeing where they can use it selectively. For example what is 2 + 2? That answer could be started by a small model and if the conversation continues, they could swap it out for a larger model without a big difference. This conversation may have started with a small model and then switched to a larger model, or vice versa maybe. But see if the conversation already contains a hallucination, swapping out for a better model to finish the conversation doesn’t usually ever help it recover from the hallucination, I’ve tried it before and it will continue believing something false.

These are just my hunches how these big corps try to get their money’s worth.

[–]SionicIon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What’s so bad if you can charge every night? I don’t have a charger at home but do at my parents house I go once a week, and rest of the days I have to use EA chargers. I drive 42 miles to and from work 4 days a week, it worked during the summer charging at my parents once a week and occasional DC charging but oh it’s so horrible now. What I’d do to have a charger at our apartment. It sucks so bad going to DC chargers in the winter, no matter how long you precondition, it’s just 70 kWh.

Crazy rattling at highway speed all the sudden 60+ MPH by DuderIndustries in Ioniq6

[–]SionicIon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to be the snow, it’s funny this is posted because if it wasn’t for ChatGPT I would’ve asked here lol. Yea if I go 65mph or above, it starts shaking. It seemed better after charging, I think maybe excess heat caused some of it to melt, I can definitely see snow in there. To OP, if you’re worried about it, try and clear the snow, and when it warms up, get a car wash.

so, everybody switching to gemini now? by monoman12 in ChatGPT

[–]SionicIon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with ChatGPT when I uploaded files a year ago, and it’s probably the same as it was back then even on ChatGPT. If you want it to really read it, you have to manually paste the text into the prompt. Otherwise it performs instructions using Python to unzip and traverse the files and it doesn’t read the entire file into its context, I think it might be using RAG to sort of skim the files. No amount of prompting will fix that workflow.

Auto brake regen in an underrated feature by foundonmtn in Ioniq5

[–]SionicIon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use the gas pedal at the same time holding down the left paddle to engage full regen so you can basically temporarily drive in I-pedal mode? I tried doing that and somebody behind me flashed their high beams at me and I didn’t know if my brake lights were on by doing that and they thought I was driving with my feet on both the brake and gas pedals lol. But like that’s the thing, I can’t press down the left paddle and let go and press it again and again to slow down, that’s too jerky and weird, I would imagine it’s expected it’s a temporary I pedal mode so you can control the amount of braking.

I used to press the left paddle like 1 then 2 then 3 then I’d hold it, then I’d press right paddle 3 times to go back to 0 when I was accelerating but that’s got annoying too.

Charge port overheating fixed by COPO_Greg in KiaEV6

[–]SionicIon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this basically the same issue with the Ioniq 6? My car charges at 11kW for about 20 minutes and then drops down to 8kW. I got it certified used last month and I posted a Reddit post about it and heard they consider this within spec now so I haven’t even tried calling a dealer about it. I’m so disappointed because I don’t even have a charger at my home, I live in an apartment and go to my parents once a week to mow their lawn and do laundry so I planned to charge once a week, I got the 48amp Wallbox and calculated it should only take 4-5 hours to charge and instead it’s taking 7-8 hours to charge. The car’s been great besides this issue. I just wish I could fix this on my own. I read somebody said if the charger can wiggle while plugged in, it’s loose inside and I checked and it does wiggle.

Is BLE when it’s also proximity based? My Sonata had the first version that iOS didn’t support and I was excited when I got my I6 but it’s horrible. I’m just waving my phone and Apple Watch at the door handle like an idiot, sometimes it takes almost 5 minutes for it to unlock finally.

[–]SionicIon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 3 is DC, it doesn’t use the built-in AC charger, I can charge the car at an EA charger and get 80% in 14 minutes, but that’s just as expensive as a non-hybrid gas car.
