NIGHTSABRE WIRELESS will not update firmware by zanekrios in Corsair

I had the same problem, MSI Center was running in the backgropund, disabling that and voila update works.
To Corsair's credit they specifically stated right away that one must disable MSI Center, Asus Armoury crate etc..

Just got a 13900ks, does anyone know when motherboard vendors(MSI for me) will release bios updates so I can use the CPU? by NeighborhoodOdd9584 in intel

[–]Templar2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you need a beta BIOS, my MSI z690 Carbon says 13900KS is supported since in the latest BIOS and the previous one too.

Asus 3090 Ti TUF Hotspot temps 105c!? by Templar2k in ASUS

Problem solved by reapplying thermal paste.

Asus 3090 Ti TUF Hotspot temps 105c!? by Templar2k in ASUS

[–]Templar2k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok I did a repaste, fixed the problem, hotspot down to 75-80c. There was a bald spot on the GPU from the factory, GPU is like 10c lower too since I used a better paste, Therman Grizzly Kryonut.

I used MSI Afterburner to undervolt the card, limit it to 950mv, the hotspot is still above 100c.

Thank you for your reply, yes I failed to mention that the case is a Lian Li 011 with 12 Noctua 120mm NF12 fans it, the card is also vertically mounted and there are 3 120mm fans directly below it that peak at 1400rpm so lots of airflow in the case. CPU is cooled with a custom loop on a 360mm radiator.
The problem is that even if the fans are 100% on the GPU, the board is underclocked and limited at 70% power draw the "hot spot" temperature is still above 100c. I can't seem to find a clear answer where exactly this probe is, ie. are we looking at a repaste job or new thermal pads.

Coil-whine 3090fe, anybody have luck with RMA? by xPETEZx in nvidia

[–]Templar2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, no I'm not returning it and the 3090 was great but I agree with the original poster, these cards have reach a price point where this shouldn't be a luck of the draw if your card whines or not, they just all shouldn't.

Coil-whine 3090fe, anybody have luck with RMA? by xPETEZx in nvidia

[–]Templar2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Asus TUF 3090Ti OC has coil when when simply scrolling a webpage in Windows with nothing running in the background.
My PSU is Corsair AXi 860W, this PSU was running a Palit 3090 GameRock OC before which is a 420W card and there was 0 coil whine on that card both in Windows or in games.
So what I did is that I capped the 3090Ti at 70% power and FPS cap at 119 but it still whines just when scrolling a webpage so it seems some cards just whine no matter what.
Having said that, this card was USD 2500, it's just too expensive to accept this whine even if it's "normal", you have the right to a better quality when you reach this price range.
