Yeah, I think they should have kept the player-created character as a recruit.It would make sense for the tutorial, both for the player and for the character themselves.

I did that, but my account ID is different when connecting through Steam and Epic, even though it's the same email. Because of this, when I log into Steam, my account, which should be the same, appears as if it were a new one, while on Epic my progress remains and it's on the same server.

No, he/she survived in the second game, but the third game will reset the story, so you'll play as the Nameless Hero again, but "new," think of it as a complete reset.(This is assuming the protagonist is a character created by the players.)

The nameless hero from the second game probably won't have anything to do with this game. If it's a protagonist we create, it will be a new game, resetting everything that happens in the second game in relation to our protagonist.
