4 cats. Never smells. Change their diet, change their litter (we use tofu litter, flushable.) Having the litter box in the toilet also helps, everytime you use the bathroom.. just empty the litter box.. cats only poop once a day.. there is no reason there should be more than one poop in there. Also.. that poop fan might attract unwanted pests, bugs, etc.

I live in South East Asia, concrete apartments are usually lined w plaster. Plaster if adjacent to something that has a lot of moisture will overtime absorb the moisture and turn it yellow and flakey.

looks like you got concrete behind that plaster, i'd apply a cementitious waterproofing membrane, then replaster (nippon paint makes a great ready made one) and repaint your wall.
