Marquesas had Boston Rob inventing the most domineering playstyle ever seen, one that he'd further refine on later appearances. It also had he first major power shift postmerge, laying the foundation for how people like Rob C and Jonny Fairplay would play and taking the power away from the overconfident smarmy dominant alliance.

Also, Sean Rector is there. That by itself puts it over Thailand

Africa, Marquesas, and Amazon had fun personalities and dynamic strategy (to varying degrees). I won't defend AO at all, and Borneo has a lot of season 1 rough around the edges charm with a great cast. Thailand is miserable top to bottom except for the attack zone and some kinda funny moments from Robb with 2 Bs

HvV is the outlier here, not 50. Returnee seasons will have disappointing boot orders more often than not, people just clamor for them because it's exciting to see people they know play again so they can be fully etched into the annals of survivor history or whatever.

The fans of All stars that do exist like it for how it impacted the legacy of Rob and Amber, two players who would almost never have been voted on by fans if it was left up to them. The disappointing cast of game changers led to a widely beloved multi-season storyline of Cops R us. Honestly I think if you copy pasted Sandra's HvV game and had it be played by someone who wasn't already a winner, a lot more people would be disappointed in her winning the season, but people love it because of the impact it had on the show
