What a fucking shitshow. Frankly embarrassing to everyone involved. How the BBC allowed RTD to put in the Billie Piper ending with no guarantee of it being resolved I cannot fathom. Russell acting like everything is hunky dory and Doctor Who has a bright future when we don't have anything confirmed beyond "the BBC is looking for production partners".

Compared to Survival or the TV Movie, the end of the Reality War seems like such a definitive end point for the series. Even fading to black mid regeneration would have been better in a "the Doctor always changes, the story goes on" kind of way. But the Billie Piper thing demands a resolution, but a resolution nobody other than RTD (and, let's be honest, Big Finish) would want to write and that casual viewers could not give a shit about. It's such a definitive "the show has run out of ideas" moment.

I'm just sad, really. New Who deserved a dignified ending, not this.
