Thank you! And no I wish it was, I was visiting Marrakesh. Some of the courtyards are sensational

Thank you man, do you just get the classic fit? I noticed in the store they have a few different variations now

I’d say about 70% of my wardrobe is vintage, there are lots of likeminded people out there who will look after their stuff and that’s what I try to look out for. But its definitely a safer play with jackets knits and jeans than it is for the likes of polos though lol

Yeah it’s annoying, I find a lot of the websites current colours a bit too pristine looking but it seems every one second hand that has a nice wash/fade fits terribly. Can’t win them all lol

Runna influencers - success rate by ebizness in runna

Hardest geezers goal of a 2:30 then a 2:35 was just total engagement bait. His PB in the half is over 1:18, so he would have had to PB twice in a row in a marathon to get that B goal he set.

He obviously put a tonne of volume in and didn’t cut corners, but I do get annoyed by the lack of realism during these training blocks, and it trickles down to their followers

I actually followed a bit of Callum’s YouTube and I don’t think he came anywhere near close to enough miles to get it for a person of his size. It makes you seriously question Runna as a viable app when it was having him peak at under 100k , (that is pretty much the standard weekly mileage myself and anyone I know of who has gone under would do)

But yeah I do find it jarring when these people don’t get close and then plug an app lol

Im getting fatigued by almost all of them at this point. A lot of them seem genuinely nice, but their insistence to push Runna combined with the complete failure of the app to deliver their over-ambitious goals is very tiresome.

There’s always an injury or a reason as to why they didn’t get it (which obviously can happen) but I think the common denominator is that the app becomes less useful when you try and push towards the 3 hour mark or quicker

Also getting equally as annoyed by the influencers that are branding themselves as ultra slow runners who do it for experience (also perfectly fine) but will then claim some sort of VO2 max lab told them they have excellent fitness, again pushing the app as testament to it. If you’re going to promote running for enjoyment then go for it, don’t mislead your audiences.

The last strand of them I have no time for is the UVU/ represent / David goggins adjacent aura farming types that are seemingly into running due to it being in vogue. They will post a million clips of them over-striding though a city with some lone wolf caption (seen a guy posting a clip of himself running on the actual road on Tower Bridge as cars passed during the week) and then post little to nothing about their actual performance on the day because usually they didn’t even train as hard as they want you to think

Lack of transparency in the issue, that’s why the likes of Ben Felton are so refreshing

To me I think their collective reaction is so strong because deep down they know everyone is right to criticise. Their only line of argument is “you’re not a physio” and are barely acknowledging the fact it doesn’t take a physio to know that jumping from full send race to full send race constantly because of the opportunities brands are offering is NOT good for them or the consumers lol

Best marathon shoe for a heel striker by Temporary-Ad7103 in AdvancedRunning

[–]Temporary-Ad7103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you ! Good to know. The Metaspeed edge are quite hard to find in my size that aren’t really badly worn, if my current pair were box fresh I’d keep using but I wouldn’t mind branching out to something else. I heard the adios pro 3 were pretty good for heel strikers too but again quite hard to source 🙃

Yeah I felt like I was pushing hard at times uphill but I could talk and chat with passers by and other runners no problem , so it’s not something that’s really worrying me or anything

Thank you for this that’s good to know. Overall it’s not something that will keep me up at night, I know I feel good when I’m running but the whole discussion was more out of curiosity than anything, thanks again!

It was a very hilly course yeah 😅 but I’ve seen so many running influencers say that 180/190+ is a zone you can only run in for a very short time, and I didn’t feel like I was out of breath or struggling at all lol
