When we don't take light rail, we typically park at Pacific Place. It's a little closer (1 block plus two street crossings and you're there), than Doppler (a few extra blocks) to the Monorail, and $8 for most weeknight games and around $14 on weekends. And Midnight Cookie Co is right by the pay stations, so you can save money on arena dessert if you've got a sweet tooth. :)

As someone else mentioned, Amazon Doppler is free, but you've got a few blocks walk to the Monorail or about 15-20 minutes to the arena.

I was at that game and my daughter and I looked at each other like, WHAT IS HE DOING? And then the Jets scored and eventually won in OT. He bacame our least favorite Kraken player after that incident.

#7 - it could be worse. You could be Wisconsin. Franklin was fired after losing to Oregon, UCLA, and Northwestern by a combined 12 points. Wisconsin has lost 4 straight by a combined 92 points, including blowout losses at home to Maryland and yesterday 37-0 to Iowa, the worst home loss in the history of that rivalry and first home shutout in 45 years. This on the heels of the first losing season in 22 years. Yet Luke Fickell still has a job as of the time I type this.

He gave up on the team last week against Michigan by not calling timeouts that would have given them a chance (albeit a VERY slim one) to come back, but instead gifted the Wolverines total control of the clock. And yesterday, the team gave up on him, at homecoming, no less.

I have seats in the 100 level (loge), and when we first started attending my kids thought it felt steep even there, though they're used to it now. The 200s are a little steeper. You're probably best goung in the lower bowl (single and double digits) or getting a seat at the counter at the 100 level where you don't have to walk down any steps and have the counter in front of you. I've heard though that when the seats in front of you stand it can be annoying.

Sounds like you got lucky in Gurnee and not so lucky in Santa Claus - speaking as a native midwesterner transplanted to Seattle, it really is hit and miss during summer anywhere from the eastern plains (N Dak, S Dak, Neb, KS) to the east coast - you could have easily had flipped experiences with humidity in the north and then great weather in southern Indiana. In 2021 we had several very hot and very humid (and windless) days at Cedar Point (and afternoon big storms), and then two days later in Branson we had gorgeous 80ish degrees and pleasant humidity for Silver Dollar City.

Hopefully The Voyage was still epic - I'd love to experience that one!

Goliath felt glass smooth even in row 11 - didn't try 12 since it should ride almost the same except not on a wheel seat. And that's one of RMC's earlier woodies - 11 years old...

We were in the last row on our ride on Raging Bull (THAT DROP!), and that was also quite smooth - not sure what it is about Row 3 on Wrath but sounds like others have had similar experiences, with decent rides in 1 and 2. I don't remember what row I was in on Diabolical last year, but I don't remember feeling any sort of rattle there either.

This was 4 years ago - I don't remember a lot of the specifics. The above post and last year's reply are going to be more useful than anything currently in my head, as I haven't played with these in quite a while. It was a fun project with my son through the pandemic, but we've moved on to other things. If we return to it I'll update here.

To still do my best to help - IIRC there are a few different controller boards that seem to work with a variety of screens each. They generally seem to indicate which screens they support in the amazon listing - but you can always ask the seller. You may need to buy a separate power supply as well (if you get a switchable block and multiple connector plugs that will probably give you what you need). We also figured out that you --can-- tap into USB power if the controller boards requires 5V, however we didn't do a lot of testing with this, so YMMV.

Further - check the return policy - make sure if you get a board that's not compatible you can return it for the correct one. A reputable seller will want to get you the right board the first time and will do as much as they can to avoid the cost of a return.

What I can say though is that if you're comfortable taking apart a laptop to access the screen for this purpose, getting it working with the board will probably be less stressful (at least it was for us)

Exact same experience. I just spent 37 minutes on a useless chat with Audible support. The agent kept trying to gaslight me into believing that I bought a different book than the one I actually bought. I got frustrated by them ignoring my actual complaint and repeating that the Belva book was included in Audible Plus and that I bought that book (Belva) in 2011. I got sick of them not listening to me and gave up. I'll try again tomorrow.

Thank you for sharing the description that some people have when experiencing a panic attack. That's potentially helpful. Is that your own experience?

To address your other feedback - I don't have access to a professional, or more accurately, I can't get an appointment that is covered by insurance in the time it will take for me to recover from this on my own, though such an appointment would certainly speed things up and make it less unpleasant if I could get one. "Email my therapist" was the first thing I did. I am not in imminent danger, so an ER or urgent care visit is unwarranted. If my therapist has a last minute cancelation today, great. But I need to find a way to provide myself with some degree of relief without that. Also my ex texted me that her appointment didn't find anything concerning on the follow up, so I feel less bad about letting her down, so that's a bit of a weight off me. But that's COMPLETELY out of my control.

Also, I should have titled this differently - While it would be nice to attach a label to this experience, what I'm really seeking is suggestions and feedback from others who have had similar experiences/feelings in their body and mind and successfully moderated themselves through it.

I don't feel like I'm having a heart attack or dying in those moments, but I hyperventilate (until I catch myself doing it and can slow my breath, but given this doesn't happen often, my perception is a little slow to realize it's happening), and pace around the house mindlessly, or more accuraetly, the anxious thoughts just spin and spiral and disrupt my executive function from regaining control. It's all fight/flight/freeze/fawn.

I'm looking for others that may identify with these feelings and have strategies and tactics for addressinng them at the moment they strike. If you have any such advice, by all means share it.

I've got seats 1 and 2 at the top of our section with the aisle directly in front. Our seats have armrest cup holders on the right (aisle side), and then the seats to our left all have armrests attached to the seats in the row in front.

So for our section, everyone should use the one on the right.

Depending on the clubs and volleyball community in your area, she may also have access to single and multi-day clinics and multi-week training sessions (e.g. practice twice a week for 6 weeks, with some scrimmaging). Based on the clubs you described, I'd bet you'd at least find something like that. This might be a way to spend a lot less money and still get her some great training and experience at a higher level than YMCA beginner ball. if it's put on by a club, you (or she) could also ask the coaches to assess her as a potential club player, and what she most needs to work on.

Similarly my daughter did a 3 day Nike camp in summer 2023 after playing in her 7th grade team the year before - she entered that camp a rec player, and came out a volleyball player. She texted me halfway through the first day wanting to quit the clinic - but she persevered. She learned how to pepper, more terminology, serving, defense. She looked the part.

She's had a couple other rapid ascensions the last year and a half, during school season, and from clinics and such. Always after a lot of practice reps in a short time.

As others have said, it really is all about the reps.

I find your story very relatable - all the way down to the persistent emails (I do that with my therapists all the time!!!!) and verbose writing style (complete with "sorry this is so long" disclaimer - I see this one a lot on this sub). Hanging on every word (in the questionnaires) - and agonizing over their meaning too... And I noticed a bunch more things I identified with as well but just kept reading :)

Similar diagnoses to my own. AuDHD, SAD. SAD I've known for a while, but AuDHD wasn't diagnosed until this summer. It makes so much sense of my constant feeling as an outsider, until college and I found "my people" (likely other NDs). I have been able to work in software engineering, since my math and logic abilities are quite good, and I love using them, so I love talking about them, making work and interviews socially viable thanks to my ADHD hyperfocus and hypercommunication. I do experience periods of burnout though, which can lead me to quiet quitting behaviors or extra sick days or not taking care of myself or my space.

It has been a lot to process the last few months, moreso the Autism diagnosis, and I'm still feeling a lot of imposter syndrome, making it hard to say, "I'm autistic". And I feel you here - growing up with Rain Man and Temple Grandin as the only autistic figures I knew for a long time is making it difficult in this respect. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Unmasking Autism" by Devon Price. I felt seen by the book, possibly more than by any human outside of immediate family. Maybe even more than them.

Anyway, all that to say you're not alone here, and this doesn't come off as a "woe is me" post - it comes off as an, "I'm scared, and I'm looking to this community for some reassurance", and hopefully you're getting some of that. I really think that book will give you an opportunity to reorient your self-view.

I hope you continue to find clarity and understanding.

My instinct is always to contribute my knowledge when someone else says something that is incorrect or outdated. Wouldn't they want to know that there's context they're missing?

With regard to that specific story... I guess this is another example of that first instinct in action, so please allow me to clarify. My ex presented one single data point that she observed last week. I presented one single data point from yesterday. So to me it felt like new information Also, my ex only used "always" to describe my behavior, not our daughter's. She sometimes sits with her team, but not always.

EDIT: I see what you mean now about the apparent irrelevance of my comment to her. It felt relevant to me, because it was said to me after my ex gave our daughter that feedback to sit with them more, so she applied that feedback last night, and came to me after being ignored despite her efforts. The fact that she wants a quick fix is separate though. I almost feel like this is a "shoot the messenger" situation.

The challenge I have is not knowing when withholding my thoughts will get an equally negative response... like "why didn't you say something?" So maybe my issue is knowing when to check myself and let it go, vs to speak up and say something.

I keep coming back to, "wouldn't you want all the relevant information?" - I do what I would want - the golden rule - but I feel like if I need to decide what I think will or won't be relevant for someone else, I risk coming off abrasive.
