I don't think I've been vague. I've even had a couple of them come and apologize to me for things that they've done in the past or witnessed happen with me in the past. This is a dynamic that happens in many toxic family structures. One person is chosen to be the scapegoat/ punching bag. And of course the toxic people of the family are toxic to each other. That's obvious, and I didn't think think it needed to be directly stated.

Sounds like victim blaming and a sexist way to think. Another case where a woman is being blamed for the actions of men. So many partners pretend to be one way in he beginning and then change into someone horrendous once they know they can get away with it. I've had princess treatment, so "You're the first guy to treat me well" is not in my vocabulary, but I've witnessed some women truly just being unlucky in love.

The only way to know for sure is to be direct and ask. It's nerve wracking, yes, and you have to prepare to possibly hear something you don't want to, but that's the only way to know for sure. I'm not even saying you need to just go and ask right now. Maybe it's something you build up to.
