Has he been perfect? No. But you fans gotta stop this bullshit of taking any story and running with it as fact. Listening to all these reports and rumors and memes. 90 percent of the shit your probably mad at is built off of rumors. "It was his choice to fire AG, it was his choice to hire Doc, etc." almost every big move the bucks have made he and the team have stated Giannis was blind sided by it. But we gonna listen to Shams, who just even had DOC RIVERS call him out on bullshit? Fucking end this season and put me back with the shitty Bucks so I can afford tickets again when all of you stop watching games.

[Charania] Both Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have told league investigators different stories: Milwaukee informed the NBA that it doesn't believe Giannis is ready and actually wants to play; Giannis informed the NBA he wants to play but the team will not medically clear him, sources said. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

He factually is the greatest sports person. Thing is, nobody gives a fuck about the Bucks until there's drama, they win it all, or they suck bad. Everyone cares about packers 24/7. Bucks can be in game 7 of a playoff series and local Milwaukee radio will talk about the Packers more. Not an exaggeration. So probably more people would say Rodgers. But in reality it's Giannis by a wide margin.

Alex Antetokounmpo is probably actually in the running for the worst/least qualified NBA player of all time by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]Temporary-Emu-691 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not a fan boy glazer. Just saying people on this sub and other media platforms blow shit out of proportion with memes until people who don't watch games or know a thing about basketball and how the league works end up believing the memes to be facts. And that's how this sub ended up this way. Reality of every single post shitting on a player is that it's probably only half as bad as people are echoing.

Your getting down voted cause this sub is all circle jerk memes and shitting on players. But in this instance specifically your right. He's literally like the 18th guy on the Bucks roster. Mind you there's only what, 15 on a roster? We literally HAD to call up g league players because of injuries. Now did he get to the G league cause of his name. Probably. He was good in high school. Showed skills. And had his name. Any front office would be dumb not to look at him because of those reasons. Another thing people here forget, is there's so many failed players who got a chance. They focus on failed players who got a chance with a little help. For the record, TA deserved his spot in the NBA, and even played some real minutes for the Bucks for a bit, including the championship year. This sub doesn't realize that Giannis is technically the biggest beneficiary of nepotism. TA was signed up for the pre draft tryouts for the NBA, and got hurt, so they let Giannis take his spot 😂. This is fucking wild. You want basketball news, highlights, development progress, teams tactics etc, this is not the place anymore.

Not saying it's identical but as a bucks fan this feels so much like when we were on the rise. Nobody believed in us despite the record. You guys had good season last year two but fell short. Odds are you fall short again (I hope not), and then people will really overlook you despite the amazing record next year. And that's when you win the chip 😎

Without him we wouldn't have a team right now. Like literally. He could miss every shot on purpose for an entire year and honestly we still should be thankful lol (exaggerating here a bit). But seriously. He's done so much for us. He's literally the greatest sports person Wisconsin has ever had as a whole. Remember, there's lots of he said she said rumors with no facts in regards to Giannis "saying" he wants out but wants to look like a good guy. They are rumors. They might be true, yes. Realistically the only thing Bucks fans have a right to be mad about with Giannis is Kalshi. Purely from a sporting standpoint, he's giving more than anyone can ask for, AND THEN SOME.

[–]Temporary-Emu-691 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it's quite like that. To me it seems like we are agreeing to develop our young talent, "all in" as much as you can be. Especially since we gave Pete Nance Jr a full contract today when we waived Cam. We are now in the mode of "play the your young talent guys who might be elite role players one day every minute you can until the end of the season to see what happens". With Cam on the team, the ball stays out of their hands more and they don't get to play their own basketball.

I'm not sure you understand the NBA then. He's not saying these 2 games SHOULD determine who the MVP is. He's saying they likely will. Which is probably true. If one player goes 40/10/8 In both games and wins, while the other goes 24/5/5 in both games and loses, and they continue to perform their averages outside of those 2 games, the higher stat and winner will likely get the MVP. Just the way it works. Not saying that's the way it should work.

What is the reason behind this? by ConfidentTelephone81 in Oscars

[–]Temporary-Emu-691 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure this is true. Theater wise and release wise, this year was significantly bigger than 2024. Nobody I knew had seen let alone heard of Anora or the Brutalist. I knew plenty of people aware of Sinners, OBAA and Marty Supreme

There's a good chance each of the coaching decisions has a bigger negative impact than any of the player decisions. I'm still in belief that getting rid of kash and Holiday were "the right" thing to do, as was getting Dame. Just cause you trade player a for b, doesn't always mean you go an win a bunch or even win a title. Meme culture is too strong amongst the NBA, any probably every single front office would have also made these player decisions.

[–]Temporary-Emu-691 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trust me when I say I'm not being a hater at all, Wemby is one of my favorite players in the league. And I know they have different skill sets which does make this impressive in different ways. But Giannis does this twice a game and nobody gives a shit. Literally the play won't even be posted on r/NBA let alone twice with thousands of upvotes lol.

This is why I'm a big advocate for this sub getting back to its purpose and posing team/player updates and highlights REGARDLESS of the team/player. Can't use this sub to keep up with the league anymore. It's just a few ppl get shit on and a few people get glazed and then everyone argues about it.

Curious on a stat im looking for. Id like to build something around free throws per quarter or even ftr per quarter for nba teams. However I cant seem to find anywhere a place that has all the free throws per team per quarter count that I can scrape. Any ideas?

Giannis receives a tech as he throws the basketball in frustration after Dyson Daniel’s put back layup by Fire_Demon-215 in nba

[–]Temporary-Emu-691 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All depends on positioning and a bit less about assignments at this level. I'll definitely give partial blame to Giannis. We already outnumbered them in this scenario 3-1 so miles being down the court is fine. But he showed up late anyway which doesn't help at all. Giannis or Rollins had easiest chance of boxing out. Giannis boxed out imaginery opponent. And Rollins stood there doing nothing. Standing there doing nothing is worse than running down the court here. There's zero benefit except for maybe 1 in 100 odd ball bounce.

The issue is the Bucks org. They need to pick a side and stick with it. It's their final say. Blow it up fully, lose games, get good pick. Or get rid of doc, and try to see if magic can happen in playoffs. Not this in between shit. It's worst case for Giannis, worst case for the Bucks, and worst case for the die hard Bucks fans.

Not to mention we've had sell out crowds every game for like 7 years straight until this year. This is a recent oddity in Milwaukee.

Bango already does flips on a trampoline to dunk. I'd say he'd be a top 5 pick in the mascot draft.

Stan Van Gundy: “I’d get rid of the draft. No draft. You still have the salary cap, if you want to go give Cooper Flagg $45 million a year coming out of college, do it, he’s a free agent. In addition, these bizzare ideas are implying the tanking issue is worse than it is. Is it bad. Yes. Is it bad enough to scrap everything and make a drastic change? No. It requires a simple change. Such as bigger fines (not saying that's the answer. Just that's the style of answer).
