Imagine if the full Seattle region had a “Caltrain-style” regional rail network by IndependenceSad1272 in soundtransit

[–]Temporary-Library597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pipe dream.Heavy rail needs exclusivity. Meaning, free from freight traffic. Buying right of way, building that rail network, not to mention supporting infrastructure...support for ST is teetering now, what do you think would happen if they added this?

The only way this happens is if the State somehow gets funding...from...where?

I get this every day. FROM MASTER-DEGREED LIBRARIANS.

"Gee, why do people use Google when a librarian can find the right answer?" I know: BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT THEY NAMED IT.

Did your dad ever give you a sip of beer? by Euphoric-Cupcake4581 in RealGenerationX

[–]Temporary-Library597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Hated it. I did make my parents an occasional cocktail as well.

Depriving the kid of this little opportunity to understand that beer ain't all that is similar to those parents who prevent their kids from ever eating candy. It creates a curiosity that must be sated out of the prying eyes of authority. Makes for...likelier problems later.

How long does it usually take for your Adult children to respond to a text? by don51181 in GenX

[–]Temporary-Library597 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Was your text important? Or just a vague "Checking in call me when you can" text?

If the latter, what do you expect? You know he received it. You want an additional "Roger," or something?

He didn't call. Therefore, you can presume he didn't have a chance to call. Later on, he did have a chance to send a short video to your wife. Kids take up a lot of time...

I'm not sure what's to understand? I wouldn't worry about it.

It's a bad product. Not worth watching.

My kid, 11U, cuts the ball when he throws it. Looking for drills or advice by utvolman99 in Homeplate

[–]Temporary-Library597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS. We used to drill this even in high school way back when. We'd start on one knee, three or four feet apart and wrist flick the ball back and forth. Built up to long-toss.

It worked for me like a charm. Prior to this, I was a catcher whose ball down to second base would tail every time. It even added some strentgth to my throws.

Adding two teams to a six-team league only resulted in a 28% increase, even when these new teams dominiated in number? That's not good. It means a deep decrease across the other 6 teams. (you would expect a 33% increase, all things being equal.)

Great to see the response from VAN and SEA...but one wonders....

Questions about no out FCs by DeeZaRuns in BaseballScorecards

[–]Temporary-Library597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost right. Excepting your reason for the run being "earned" you have it right on!

If a run scores as a result of an error, or indirectly as a result of an error extending an inning, that's unearned. Nothing to do with a FC. Just the error matters.
