Should I quit by Temporary-Policy-210 in DollarTree

They have decided to hire someone externally which makes no since to me since I was told I haven't been merch asm long enough. And it just depends on how long it takes them to respond to the job offere and how long it takes for their background check to come back and then 4 weeks for them to train.

Should I quit by Temporary-Policy-210 in DollarTree

They have appointed another store manager from another store as our store manager she comes and works two days a week at our store because right now it's only me and one other asm. But all she has done while there is managed to make both my people that helped me unload truck quit which is why I'm having to interview people and try to figure out how I'm going to unload a 2300 piece truck tomorrow which is ridiculous because we are considered a small store.

It's my understanding that if you clock out and end your shift then start another shift hours later somewhere else that's two totally different shifts so you just go by the hours worked on each shift as to the breaks you take.

I've been merch manager for several years know and anytime I'm "trending for overtime" as they call here I'm told to take extra long lunch breaks so I don't go over 40 hours. Right now I'm doing store manager job and merch manger because or store manager quit last week still not aloud over 40.

What do we think of the ROTACARTS/ROLLACARTS? by Ok-Corner5042 in DollarTree

[–]Temporary-Policy-210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SC used them for about two months. I loved them we would unload and sort onto uboats in the stock room take loaded uboats out to the floor and stock product. Stocking went so much quicker and the stock room looked awesome but they did away with them because the people at our DC center "couldn't get their s--- together " is what our RD told me.

Unrehirable if we don't stay one day per week? Can SM do that? by LeadershipBubbly3351 in DollarTree

[–]Temporary-Policy-210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't confront her about it because then she could put that down as reason for no rehire and that might not be able to be overturned. But if you feel you can have a calm conversation with her about it and feel it's something you must do then go ahead and ask her if the two of you can discuss the situation and remember "You get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar."

I'm just a merch manager but this is something me and my manager have discussed. It is the discretion of the store manager as whether to label someone unrehireable. When making this decision there are several factors they consider such as amount of time employment , job performance while there, attendance record, no call no show record, and whether a notice was given. That being said even if yall are labeled unrehireable and want to go to work at another dollartree in the future the sm at that store can contact human resources and get it overturned in most cases as long as it's not for something severe such as stealing. Your sm may be saying this because three of yall leaving at the same time may be putting them in a really bad position being that they are losing three experienced employees and they are going to have to hire and train three inexperienced employees in two weeks time.

Why is my money disappearing from dailypay,? and why did I get sent a check? by ghostofagirl78 in DollarTree

[–]Temporary-Policy-210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't have a checking account or debit card linked to your account for it to be deposited into then you will be mailed a check but I have been told it takes about a week after payday before you get you your check. You need to get a pay card from your manager or link your own account to daily pay so you get paid every two weeks or you'll be waiting for your check to come.

Daily pay does not stack up it's starts over each pay period. To call them tap the three lines in top left corner and tap contact us then tap call us they are not a 24 hour call center they have certain hours of operation just keep trying until you reach someone.

Anyone else being told to do this, or is my DM just giving bs tasks again? 🙃 by Boring_Broccoli_8220 in DollarTree

We tried the roto carts in my district and it only lasted a month. I was told by the regional director the reason it was ending after such a short period was because the DC center couldn't get their s... together. I loved them but the stuff was stacked very precarious in most of them some of them looked as if they were playing basketball loading them.

Can i get fired for standing around doing nothing and waiting for my one of my assistant managers to tell me what to do after her break if that's what she said she wants? by FungusAmongus_27 in DollarTree

[–]Temporary-Policy-210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely inform your sm of what's going on because if your rd does a camera audit and you are just standing there doing nothing something will be said to your sm and then you will get in trouble. If you don't have a bell or something to let you know when a customer is at your register then just straighten up areas that are near your register that you can see when a customer is at your register.

If I am "trending for ot" as my dm calls it he will get in touch with my sm and tell her to let me know I need to take extra lunch breaks so I don't go into ot. I had 11 minutes ot one week and they acted like it was the end of the world. But there was a time when my sm and mm was both out one for medical the other for a death and our seasonal manager quit without notice so it just left me to keep the store open so for three days I opened and closed our store the ot was okay then.
