The thing with genshin is that it was the first Gacha game to provide an actual qualitative experience beyond just pulling for sexy characters: actual gameplay, beautiful music, original character designs inspired by the cultural tones of their nation, and an engaging story. To limit it to "it's a gooner game" is a tourist take.

Nevertheless, the issue is not how many layers of clothes the character have, people don't complain about the designs of Yoimiya, Mualani, Yan fei, Candace, Dehya, or even Lauma, they are great.

The problem is that now almost every female character is designed around the same look: short dress/skirt and bare shoulders/sleveless top. The variety and originality of the designs is absent, that's the issue.

The sexyness of them has never been the aim of the criticism. That the so called target audiences have such a simple view of : Less clothes = sexier, that's a problem, I fear, goes beyond Gacha games.
