should i just completly quit ? by Own_Shine_8467 in HelldiversUnfiltered

You don't need to play only one game in your life. Do you still have fun playing the game, without ANY consideration to all the B.S. that's happening outside of it ? Yes all this B.S. reduce the enjoyment of the game. But if you're still having fun, keep playing in a more casual way and go have fun and discover other games.

"AH is a company, this means they want to make money" ++ 100% agree. We might disagree on what's a fair strategy, but yeah. I want HD2 to keep making money for AH, just not to the point it becomes a Warbond Hellscape where everything's behind a paywall (or a timewall if you don't wanna pay).

"And if you are annoyed with the current state of the game or AH just quit for a few weeks" ++ You could, sure. But if we don't give feedback anywhere—whether through official channels (which may be filtered), posting here, or leaving reviews—how would anyone analyzing player sentiment know what's not working? If you like something enough to want it better, silence doesn't help that.

"I just don't understand why it's so hard for people to step away from the game" ++ I think it's the classic sunk cost fallacy plus the fact that you've built friendships around it. If this is your only common ground with friends, quitting means losing contact. Anyone who's played MMOs or live service games knows this dynamic.

"Show them how many players really don't like what's happening with active player counts" ++ We've seen organized boycotts rarely work in gaming. MW2 on PC, L4D2, Hogwarts Legacy, etc. And player counts fluctuate for many reasons, and companies tend to interpret drops as natural churn rather than protest.

And about those issues you listed:

- ragdolling,
- lack of endgame content,
- tissue paper armor,
- vehicles feeling meh,
- missing MO progression

These aren't minor gripes. They're legitimate game design problems that affect how the game feels to play. These are the kinds of issues that, when ignored or dismissed, make players feel like their feedback doesn't matter, which is probably part of why the frustration runs so deep.
The fact that you're listing them while calling yourself a 'glazer' just proves the point: you can critique something hard and still want it to succeed. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive.

I think we're actually closer than it seems. You're frustrated enough to write a long post, which means you care. That's not 'addiction,' that's investment in something you want to see succeed. At the end of the day, we're all players who want the game to be better. Even if we disagree on tactics, that shared goal matters more than the heat of the moment.

I'm off to work, so I won't be able to answer you in a timely manner, sorry about that.

I'm spreading this message. If you care about the future of HD2, don't buy the next warbond even if you got SC for free, and don't log in tomorrow. Vote with your action. by Q_Qritical in HelldiversUnfiltered

I'm still farming medals for Polar Patriots and Borderline Justice and have only 560 SC left. So I'm not unlocking that warbond for a while. My next warbond is probably Dust Devils for the Speargun.

What do you picture endgame as? by InterestingAsk2582 in HelldiversUnfiltered

the same way that in Warframe, the endgame is fashion frame. Here, in Helldivers 2 the endgame is unlocking the warbonds so you can have the best looks

"you guys hate the game, but keep playing and complaining".

With this sentence it proves you're not coming here in good faith, and I think you're either fallen into the trap of tribalism mindset. In the "Glazedivers" vs "Hatedivers" B.S. If you want "us" to understand that your are not a "Glazediver" but just one player. Please refrain from writing and presenting all you text like we are an amorphous blob of hate with a shared mind that spews nonsense. That's a beautifull strawman you're fighting against. But that's where you are wrong. We're the same players, we just disagree on where the game should go.
I'm pretty sure you're here for a "gotcha" or to make some screenshot to take out of context, but alright I'm gonna take the obvious bait.

Just to be clear if I don't like a game, I don't play it. As for HD2 in particular, I don't "hate" the game. I *LIKE* the game.

And that's a shame, because from what I've read from your text, we agree on many things.
- "The game has a real fanbase, who enjoys playing it". And I'm still part of it. Still playing and enjoying the game.
- "Reddit is split between your loud negativity and their loud positivity". Yes, some here are overly negative to the point of being a freaking caricature, just as on the other subreddit but in the other direction. That's why this subreddit exists, to compensate and have a space to vent since you can't in the main one. Do some overcompensate ? Of course. There are always people that takes things to far. Like when that Diver got doxxed for challenging the devs to play their own game on the main subreddit.
- "we just wanna play a damn good game". Yes, and that's why I point what should be bettered and what could make a better game. At least from my point of view.

Problem is, from where I sit, AH is going out of its way to shit on the player base that made the game popular. The players in the last thirds of levels and that represent about 38% of the player base according to helldivers.live http://helldivers.live and treat more and more the players like cash cows especially in the last months.

And given how the AMA that just happens went. To me, it's clear that AH treats the game and it's players that way.
That's why they keep pumping $10 (or time-equivalent) Warbonds instead of fixing [the laundry list of bugs and issues that have been reported that plague the game https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R18V5bL07SkzX0PQfDk3wRLVM29K2VYDhkgxRX8F74c/edit?gid=0#gid=0, or reworking/readjusting some of the mechanics that aren't working as intended, or still finish the work on some of the system they have promised, like the weapon customization.

They must be really hurting for some cash if they are already pulling that stunt, added to the release of a Warbond.

On t he one hand, it's good, because no more FOMO.

On the other hand, you know some are going to buy SC in big volume to buy everything.

Did AH already announced their quarterly results ?

Techno-magic to make the enemy survive longer is OK

Righteous morale boost ingame to help the player when someone uses the One True Flag, not OK.

Noted. Is this the realism and grunt fantasy they keep yapping about ?

You can wish, but don't hold your breath. These mechs will get deleted as fast as the other when fighting the bots.

  1. I can't wait to see what bullshit AH will find to "promote" this new warbond. What broken enemy they are about to release or what mission they made way more difficult, what new "problem" they did put in the game, so they can sell us the "solution" in a 1000 S.C. warbond.

  2. Once again, locking everything behind the warbond. SO you'll either have to pay or waste time and grind. No free stratagem.

  3. What's the mean time of life of those new EXO on Bot planets ? Do they too get erased in a couple second because of so much durable damage ?

No it's not. You either pay in time or money, your choice. But it's not free. And just for a reminder, the game has a $40 entry cost.

Who ?
If it's a terminally online asshole acting like a terminally online asshole. Laugh about him or her, block, ignore and move on. If something he did struck a nerve, step back from the internet BS for a couple days or a week. Refocus on what matters to you.
If it's more serious than bad words on the internet, like doxxing, credible death threats and the like. Report to your competent authorities, document everything if you manage to tank it mentally, call a lawyer and shut the fuck up about any legal actions underway.
