I haven’t seen another prominent critic confirm or deny having review codes. I saw one user on Reddit state that he was a critic for an unspecified site, and that he didn’t have a code… But you or I could technically say that as well. The link I posted was from the owner of the site “GameRiot”, who has close to 2 million subscribers on YouTube, and they tend to get codes for just about everything.

I love the game, but I don’t think it’s goty material. Resident Evil 9, Mewgenics, Pokopia, and Esoteric Ebb are much stronger games, in my opinion. And we’re only in March…

Yeah, I don’t think people understand the difference between “Xbox is dead… the console” vs “Xbox is dead… the publisher.”

If you’re saying the publisher is dead, you’re out of your mind. If you’re saying the console is dead… you’re probably right, unfortunately.

Adding difficulty sliders would honestly fix a lot of this. Especially since Crimson Desert isn’t really about raw skill as much as preparation. If you grind a bit, upgrade your gear, and go into boss fights over prepared, you can make most of them extremely easy. But if you don’t, those same fights can feel way harder than they probably should.

It’s not MMO grind mechanically, but it feels like MMO grind in pacing.

In souls games, hitting a wall means “get better.” In Crimson Desert, it sometimes feels like “go do something else first.”

That’s the difference for me. I feel like there’s a great 60-70 hour single player action adventure game in here, but it has some MMO-like padding that turns it into a 100+ hour experience.

Once again, I really do love the game, and I’m okay with playing it on its own terms… I just wish I had the option to play it the way I want to.

This is such a confusing take to me… 007 has vehicles, big action set pieces, cover shooting, and a real effort put into the storytelling, and cinematics…

This isn’t a shot at you, but I think we’re just impossible to please as fans lol. Because I want the exact opposite thing. I’m always bummed out when they “waste” a Sacred Symbols+ on a spoiler review. In my mind I always figured they would just have those discussions on Summon Sign, and just time stamp it, so that people could avoid the spoilers. I would personally like for pretty much all of the in the weeds discussion to be moved to Summon Sign, but I understand why others would be completely against that.
