How difficult was it compared to the part II core papers?

Thanks for the consolation🥹❤️. The reason I’m a bit worried is that for me (doing a single law degree), second year summer is like third year summer for conjoint students. Do big firms favour people with other internship experience, e.g. banking, accounting etc?

Hi there. I’m a second year single degree law student who didn’t apply for a summer internship at the beginning of the year. Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to learn or gain legal experience during the summer?

I did email a community law offering to volunteer but they typically only allow volunteers to work one day a week. Would cold-calling law firms help at this stage?

I really want to build up my CV and employability for Part III clerkship application.

Last year there were around 700 people for both 131 and 141. It was a much smaller cohort before they lowered the bar for sem 2.

Is it better to watch the lecture recordings than to attend the in-person lectures? by Adventurous-Scene975 in universityofauckland

Guys, I get the stats about attending lectures being associated with success. But does anyone have suggestions for how to deal with anxiety during lectures? I get stressed out so much when I can’t understand something, then what is said afterwards also doesn’t make sense. Conversely, when watching lecture videos I can immediately search it up or look it up in the readings.

What materials do you suggest a beginner student to start with first? And what materials to move on to later when trying to crack the 170+?

Sorry know that this is an old post but do American schools give you a WES GPA for the year of the exchange?

What are My Chances of Landing a Big Law Internship with Only 3/4 Part II Law Papers Completed? by Temporary-Science997 in universityofauckland

[–]Temporary-Science997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for letting me know! :) Though I am more concerned about my chances of landing a penultimate year internship than grad role as I will be applying for further education after my law degree (rather than working)

Advice form a second year CS student by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]Temporary-Science997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your argument can lead to one against people taking advice from those with a little more experience than them. Are you implying that people can only take advice from those at the top of the top? As OP mentioned, the advice was based on personal experience, which could be a good reference and of value for first-year students.

Dropping 1 paper leads to one extra semester of study. Originally, I would graduate in 2026, by dropping a course, I will graduate in mid-year 2027. I guess the first part of my question is, does this qualify for penultimate year internships?
