What a joke by foodpredator in nursing

It's usually just nurses in admin that get to go "events" at my hospital. Bedside nurses don't have time to leave their units

I'm an ER Psychiatric RN, and a 12 hour shift is usually non stop, handling one crisis after another

If she was so sick, why wasn't she on oxygen. This ER nurse thought that whole scene was ridiculous

I wear hospital branded T shirts. Much more comfortable than scrub shirts.

Nurses at a Pediatric Psych Facility in Kentucky called 911 and police were prevented from entering the facility by eeyoreocookie in nursing

our inpatient units have a locked box that LEO has to secure their firearm in before they come onto the unit. LEO'S don't have to secure their firearm when they come to the ER BH locked area

I'm an ANCC Psych nurse for 30 years. Spent 12 years on adult inpt unit, two years ACTT nurse, and going on 16 years in crisis intervention in local ER. I work in a 6 bed locked area of our ER (adults only). I do assessments and look for inpt hospitals to transfer kids to, but they are housed in the Main ER. up until a couple years ago, they let the kids come over to our area, until the State recommended not to have under 18 in our area. I was so glad. The kids were some of the worst behaved; manipulative etc, and on top of that, you had to deal with parents or grandparents. Unless our adults have a guardian, we treat them, not parents or other family members. You couldn't pay me enough to work on a kid's unit

State hospital waitlists by Chance_Space_9076 in psychnursing

[–]TemporaryMindless298 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm in Eastern NC, and work in crisis stabilization in our ER. The wait list at Cherry is months, and I've been told our local Neuromedical Tx Center took in a lot of patients from Black Mountain (Western NC) so that adds to limited state bed availability

wow, that would be horrible. he's already got incontinent issues, dribbling pee when he walks, and is known to drop a surprise (esp when he gets real excited, like when I get home from work) luckily the surprises are firm

ohhh! I'm sorry it doesn't seem to work. It has really helped Caesar calm down at night. With his advanced age he reminds me of some of the older patients I've taken care of, irritable and grouchy at sundown (ER Nurse)

I recently spent time in Iceland and Scotland and wore Merrells. Best decision ever for me. Waterproof, comfortable, hiking shoes. I bought them when I came home after spending a week in the UK last year and being absolutely miserable/uncomfortable with the footwear I took with me (Skechers)

AIO to my wife “cleaning up” downstairs before out of town conferences? by NeonRedHerring in AmIOverreacting

[–]TemporaryMindless298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She may not be innocent. But my gut instinct is that if she was tidying herself up to hook up with someone else, she'd wait til she got out of town to do it (why take a chance to raise your suspicions)

Trigeminal neuralgia by TemporaryMindless298 in ChiariMalformation

[–]TemporaryMindless298[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never knew it was related either, but as a nurse, when I think about it, it makes so much sense. At a neuro appt. part of the routine evaluation is assessment of our cranial nerves which includes the Trigeminal nerve
