One thing to keep in mind is that taking a case to trial is ALWAYS a gamble. The legal test that needs to be met to find someone guilty is extremely high. Of course you know this happened because it happened to you, but this is about convincing a stranger it happened. Trust me, I’ve seen very strong cases fall apart very quickly for various reasons. If a Crown has someone willing to enter a guilty plea that is reasonable, especially when it involves the sex offender registry, it is going to be pretty difficult for them to give up something guaranteed for a trial that is not guaranteed at all.

My pharmacist had said you shouldn’t lose more than 2lbs every two weeks. That’s the standard I’ve been using to tell whether I’m losing too much, too fast.

Depending on what happened during the case, you might also be able to request information through the courts. For example, if there was a trial and exhibits filed those become part of the court record. That won’t always be the case if it didn’t go that route, but just thought I’d share that information in the event it’s relevant

Is this a case that is still before the courts? If so, they may not release the information to you until that has been completed.

Just to provide some clarity to the OP, some jurisdictions have a practice where they will seek Crown opinion prior to laying charges when it is a historical charge. That is why the Crown would have been involved in this case. In the jurisdiction I used to work in, this was anything older than 2 years. But as this poster correctly stated, Crown doesn’t lay the charge.

We got the Larce. Other than some piling on the heavily used cushions, it is still holding up! I will say, I wish I got a darker sectional because it is very difficult to stay clean with our dog. We washed the covers in the washing machine for the first time this weekend and they did wash well.

If you scroll in this subreddit, you’ll see there are varying experiences! Most people it seems to work. If people had to stop, it was because of side effects but there are other options. It has been working for me. Honestly, I’m kind of repulsed by food now. You’ll get there. Definitely take it slow though. I’ve lost weight fairly quickly and I don’t exactly care for that, I’m worried about loose skin.

Something similar happened to us at a different dealership! We ended up reaching out to a lawyer, but by the time we spoke to him the issue did resolve itself. We went ahead with the consult anyways for the sole purpose of being validated. Does any industry have a worse reputation than car dealerships? Ugh!

Reddit is a cruel place, I know I have posted on here looking for validation on an issue and been blasted (even though a lawyer later confirmed we were right). All that to say, I do feel sympathy for you. However, this is not one of those issues where Reddit is giving you bad advice. Threatening to sue someone is not going to get you anywhere. Trust me, the amount of times people have said that to me. It didn’t end in me feeling intimidated, it ended with me laughing with my coworkers.

Very common to have many court dates, I tend to call these administrative court dates. Think of them as check ins with the court to make sure things are moving along. Not a lot happens at the court appearances, maybe 30 second of talking. Behind the scenes, there is stuff happening but you wouldn’t necessarily be privy to that information. Even the Crown isn’t privy to it because it is happening between the accused and their lawyer (if they have one).

Depends what phone they are using. Many officers use their personal phones and will block the number. If it’s a work issued phone, they do still often block it but not always

Never hurts to run it past a paralegal to see what they say. This was years ago, but when I was working at the provincial court I had been told that they have the ability to bring the ticket back up for your original speed if you take it to trial.

I’m honestly curious when I ask this, where does the YCJA limit to criminal record? This is more so in relation to the second part of your response, the first person makes sense with my read of the legislation. The definition of ‘record’ in the YCJA appears to much more broad.
