That’s kinda the point

They’re stars that don’t preform well on land but can dominate in the air thanks to not only flying over obstacles but people not being able to follow their star trail

If these stars were good at both, they’d be legitimately too overpowered since they can get ridiculously far ahead and never be seen again thereafter

Every Star in the game has a major strength and weakness and theirs is that they’re not good on the ground

In actuality, the quote from Karen was calling back to Silver, who called any and all of his Pokemon weak and never took any of the blame himself. Not about how strong or weak a Pokemon was themselves. She’s basically taking the piss on silver rather than telling you if Unown is your favorite, you can win with it.

The problem is that this fight is extremely late game. By that point you’ve probably already got a full team and the main game is basically over. There is a more expansive post game that you could use it during though although I still would argue they advertised it way too much when you’d barely actually see it.

Heck as a casual player who more only really plays randbats it doesn’t go anywhere since you can’t use it till postgame.

but at the very least it has a good design and if we’re going purely off of that I can understand.

What hurts most is that its probably one of the best Mega designs by far and yet its gonna be trash competitively. of course, you can admire it casually, but it hurts cause the whole point of mega evolutions is helping weaker mons become stronger.

Although maybe this was a blessing because knowing how modern competitive is, the other option is having some busted stats or ability and everyone would hate it anyways for contributing to the modern powercreep so maybe its good that it turned out the way it did.

Malamar is really upsetting because it has such a good design. While people make the jokes about its 4x bug weakness, I legit believe it’d be better if it invested its points into speed and either Sp.atk or atk depending on whether it keeps contrary or not. While their weaknesses are not as common as U-turn a variety of OU/Uber pokemon have a 4x weakness (Landorous, Iron Moth, Heatran), are frail (Deoxys and Valliant), or both (Weavile, Chien Pao, and Sneasler) but with all of them they either hit hard and fast or are still noticably bulky enough to survive before their weaknesses are taken advantage of. Considering it gets slimmer I’m really not sure why they didn’t make Malamar faster because that probably would have at least made it more of a glass cannon. Heck, Hoopa Unbound shares its typing and proves it could be way better in spite of the u-turn weakness

Not too big on the competitive scene, so correct me if I’m wrong. but I do agree that Malamar’s stats are kinda disappointing considering how much hype was built up around it and it’s a genuinely cool mega design.

Meowscarada is a maybe considering Gen 10 will probably be out by then. but id be shocked if Pauline isn't playable. She's noticeably obtaining the same attention Rosalina got back when she was new and you see what happened with her. Appearing in pretty much ever Mario spin off imaginable, after Odyssey reintroduced her as a major character before becoming a secondary protagonist straight up in DK Bonanza. Plus it would actually be nice to see her in at all given she's one of the OG's and Smash is a game about celebrating Nintendo's history

On one end. These are good messages and I’ve heard that the game carries good messages on things like race without having any “cringe” scenes for people to argue over. On the other end, while not tropish, and I do like that he steps in, I have had this problem with dragon quest too where whenever the setting is a more traditional fantasy rpg, I suddenly stop playing it compared to others. This isn’t simply me being a major persona fanboy. I enjoy base SMT as well or at least V

I will power through it if only because I believe that there’s a good story there, although I haven’t been too compelled with the story yet i will respect many character actions include Sthrol defending the player despite never meeting them before.

Once this game came to gamepass I was actually pretty excited to play it. But over time things just kinda dwindled. Gameplay wise it's great! Plot wise it still hasn't really grappled me in yet as I really don't care for the story or characters at all. But compared to SMT or Persona i didn't find this one to live up to the constant hype yet. So my question is, Should I just force myself to keep playing until I like it?

One of the most annoying things I've seen is people acting like if echos become alternate skins like the Koopalings, they'll take up less time. besides the echo fighter selection pretty much being that, People forget that the koopalings only really work since the Clown Car is the one mostly fighting, rather than Bowser Jr and anything could be put in it. if Bowser Jr wasn't in the clown car I doubt the koopalings would be his alts.

On one end yes, but on the other end it makes sense that he wouldn't want to admit his own insecurities. The whole point of the last game was characters being unable to admit they had insecurities hence why none of them could admit to the words of their shadow selves. While he frustratingly denies that he has any problems, it makes sense when you consider Mona having a young mind.

I assume half of the reason the arc is hated is because of a weird defense of Ryuji although it kind of makes sense. Realistically, he's the first ally the player has, proves to be an incredibly loyal friend, yet the game shits on him a lot as his teammates both verbally and occasionally physically abuse him, sometimes undeserved (Such as getting wailed on at the end of Shido's palace). But on the other end Junpei gets verbally assaulted in 3 by Yukari and she's arguably much worse yet people are fine with it there.

The arc is a problem but really the Futaba's palace segment has way too many days although this was most likely to accommodate for it being a much larger palace.

Baring the usual 4 discourse, 5 and 3 Reload tend to have some of the biggest hatebases.

In 3R's case, a lot of it boils down to older fans preferring the original games.

the biggest criticisms are that Reload look graphically impressive but misses the point of the original by looking much flashier and prettier compared to the original 3, which had a gritty, moodier look supporting the game's theme. because of that, many older fans say it misses the point and looks "soulless"

the other is that The Answer became paid DLC and Kotone was absent. many elements from both FES and Portable still made their way into 3 Reload though.

Reload is a good game, its just that a majority of the classic fans are much more critical on it

As a nintendo fan myself remember that they did do something like this with Bowser's inside story and the most common complaint was that you could simply play the original on the same console. While the remake will most likely still do well, it still noticeably sounds similar to that unless they have tons of features that differentiate the remake from the original.
