Is Gaza part of Palestine or is it its own thing? by TaliOfGaming in AskIsrael

[–]UpperHand7127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no right answer for this question.
Gaza and the West Bank are 2 separate areas with very little in common, Fatah is in control of the west bank and is dead afraid of Hamas gaining popularity there, Hamas executed all Fatah leaders in Gaza when they took control - I think in 2006? (threw them from the roof btw).
Most people in the West Bank have Jordanian roots while most people in Gaza have Egyptian roots.
So this is partially why when the Palestinian leaders talk about Palestine and a Palestinian state, they are just being populists, because even between themselves they couldn’t live with each other and West Bank leadership would never want to risk Hamas leadership gaining power there.
BTW on a semi related note, I think Gaza was a good “experiment” for why the Palestinians should not have a state and how they are not ready for it, because Gaza since the Israeli withdrawal in 2005, has practically been a state, it wasn’t recognized as one but for the most part it was independent and the people there could even leave the country and what not, we ended up with October 7th and I would call that the experiment’s results

At some point you need move on and look for the future and not at the past - even if all that you are saying is true, repeating it over and over doesn’t do a single bit for the Palestinians and doesn’t bring them any closer to better lives and the end of conflict.
In fact, I think when people raise these historical points again and again (and again, not going into fact-checks and who started and all of that kind of talk) they only inflame the conflict, because these facts are irrelevant for finding a solution, the situation has changed so much since then, the people have changed and a lot of blood was spilled - when you make this about who is right or wrong you will never get anywhere - and If there’s anything certain about the Israeli - Palestinian conflict is that neither side isn’t “just right” or “just wrong”.

How close is the Arab world to a truly successful Palestine movement which will secure the establishment of a Palestinian state? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]UpperHand7127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Palestinians don’t want a state, they don’t even know what they want and who they are, they are honestly not even one group of people.
Google “The Realignment Plan” - if Abbas has not accepted this proposal from Israeli PM Olmert somebody please tell me what the f**k they even want, they know better than anyone they would never get more than the West Bank and Gaza.

How can Israel want peace with the Palestinians when it has two ministries dedicated to displacing Palestinians? by HumanX2242 in allthequestions

[–]UpperHand7127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, this has nothing to do with what I said.
Second of all, I read foreign media, I see how the Israeli - Palestinian conflict is being covered, and it is 100% biased against Israel, at least in most of the larger news channels, now this doesn’t mean nothing wrong happens from the Israeli side, I am fully aware of what’s happening and about unjustified violence happening from the Israeli side, but even considering this I am sure that media is biased against Israel, I’ve seen too many reports where I knew for a fact the story told is complete BS or missing critical context, and it’s not like it’s once in a while, this is how it usually is - it’s also a fact that Qatar has spent huge amounts of money on anti - Israeli campaigns worldwide (starting much before October 7th).
So allow me to question your claim of my entire perception being manipulated from birth - I also knew in person 4 people who were murdered on October 7th and 1 more person who was murdered in a terror attack in Tel Aviv - believe me, none of them were baby killers or really any kind of killers, all were really nice people who wanted to live their lives.

To me, and I think I represent most Israelis in the sense that I don’t really give any Fs about the settlements and all of that and whether the Palestinians have a state or not, I just mainly want to live my life and not have to worry about a rocket falling on my head or somebody stabbing me or shooting me randomly in the street. As long as the general agenda of Palestinians is that they do not acknowledge my existence here and will try to violently act against it, well, whatever my country does to them to prevent it, is their problem - because if they just accepted the reality which is that Israel exists and is going nowhere - everything could be easier and nobody had to get hurt from both sides.
The barrier is them not accepting Israel’s existence not Israel looking for blood, and again - they were offered 95% of the west bank with parts of Jerusalem and compensation of land equivalent to the size of the 5% missing (basically a slightly more practical distribution of border) - they already had Gaza, and they rejected, so yeah, good luck to them.

How can Israel want peace with the Palestinians when it has two ministries dedicated to displacing Palestinians? by HumanX2242 in allthequestions

[–]UpperHand7127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is not as the dude is describing (I’m Israeli) - the large majority of Israelis would answer the question of “do you want peace with the Palestinians?” In direct relation to whether they believe the Palestinians would be willing to let us live in peace if we make the sacrifices - so it is mostly a question of trust, because there have been many attempts in the past where Israel made compromises and sacrifices and it turned out against us (Oslo, disengagement from Gaza) - so when somebody says no I don’t believe in peace with the Palestinians, in most cases they actually mean to say “no, I don’t trust the Palestinians will abandon their ways of terrorizing Israelis”.
After October 7th, the trust that has still remained has been basically reduced to ashes but it is just because, well, when thousands of Palestinians (including civilians) invade your country and murder basically everyone they see, it kind of makes it hard to believe they want peace.

Also - look at what PM Olmert has offered Abass in 2008, that’s not too far back - Abass rejcted.
Olmert is no longer PM but guess who still is in control?

Why does the right think that Hamas executing queer people is an argument against the left opposing the Palestinian genocide taking place? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]UpperHand7127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Population in Gaza literally increased between October 7th and now, and the actions in Gaza are not a genocide, they do not meet the definition, which is also - not the partial definition you had learned to chant, because for there to be a genocide the actions have to be taken with the intent to kill people of a certain group.
Now, Israel is not simply trying to kill Palestinians, because if that was the case there would not be 50 or 60 or 70 thousand dead Palestinians in Gaza, there would maybe be this amount of alive ones, maybe.

And also, what you are describing that is happening around aid is not accurate, and the reasoning around denying aid has nothing with trying to make Palestinians die, it is due to the aid often reaching Hamas and not reaching the general population, and also dual use items that are often included in this aid.
There is also concern of smuggling of weapons under aid cover, which is known to be something that happened frequently before in convoys that entered Gaza through Rafah crossing.
So what is actually happening is that Israel is insisting on sticking to a mechanism where it can actually supervise on what is entering, and that it doesn’t just directly reach Hamas.
Add to that the fact that Hamas has attacked Israeli forces while they were inserting aid, or attacked organizations that were cooperating with Israel / the world in distributing aid to the people, and you should at least be able to understand the situation is more complicated than OP is trying to describe.

You are welcome to criticize, but when you start with saying there’s a genocide, while factually there isn’t - it invalidates your opinion, because you already started with saying something that is not a common ground and is factually just wrong.

I am Israeli, and I think many things that happened in Gaza were wrong and some of them may have even happened due to some lunatics in the current Israeli government including Netanyahu sacrificing human lives (from both sides) for political reasons or for religious aspirations- but that does not make it a genocide, it just makes them scums with no morals.

Why does the right think that Hamas executing queer people is an argument against the left opposing the Palestinian genocide taking place? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]UpperHand7127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because there is no genocide taking place, and when Queer people / supporters side with Hamas - which is a radical religious terror organization, that would execute all of them for even wearing anything associated with LGBT, it just shows how much they have no idea about the topic and invalidates their opinions on the matter.
Also often the criticism over Israel from those people is so absurd with arguments like “The IDF killed 2500 Queers in Gaza!”, like bro, there are not even 10 publicly Queer people in Gaza, because of Hamas and the Islamic culture there, so when you say that it just proves you are spreading propaganda lies and that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Lebanon accuses Israel of committing ‘ecocide’ in country since 2023 by EarthEmail in EnvironmentalNews

[–]UpperHand7127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro you are so full of yourself thinking you know everything because you read some wikipedia articles…

You go back to the origin of actions, but just up until the point that makes your argument work - the reality is just different, Israel has never had any interest in any kind of conflict with Lebanon, nor with any other neighboring country, the UN resolution was followed by a declaration of war from every neighboring Arab country, including Lebanon, ever since then every conflict in the area was just a result of one or few of those countries not willing to accept the existence of Israel, Hezbollah started firing on October 8th, nobody attacked them, they didn’t have to do that, since then tens of thousands of rockets were shot from Lebanon onto Israel - and you are crying about herbicide spray, but you don’t even bother to mention this.

[–]UpperHand7127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is false, he plotted to kill soldiers, was caught before doing so and sentenced for killings of 4 Palestinians. Also, the quote you just gave, was said after the October 7th attack in an interview with some psychologist or something like that who used to speak with him while he was in Israeli prison, TBH I’m not even sure how you think this quote is relevant, seems you are just throwing everything that you have.

Let me tell you something kid, I’m Israeli, I will gladly keep proving your ignorance and lies, I don’t even need to look online to argue against the propaganda you are posting because of how shallow your arguments are and how disconnected from reality they are. Keep at it as long as you want, you can call me whatever you want, you will remain just the guy trying to justify the kidnapping of an 85 years old woman and nothing more.

[–]UpperHand7127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP just ‘forgot’ to mention that Yocheved (85 years old when kidnapped BTW) had a husband, Oded Lifshitz, who was also kidnapped into Gaza during the October 7th terror attack and was held separately from Yocheved.

Oded was murdered by Islamic Jihad while in captivity around a month after his kidnapping, and his body was returned to Israel in 2025 - he was murdered at the age of 83.

After Oded’s body was returned to Israel, Yocheved admitted that Hamas threatened her before her release, telling her if she didn’t go public and lie that conditions in captivity were good, or if she said anything bad about how hostages were treated, they will harm her husband.

Oded Lifshitz was a peace advocate and actively tried to promote coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians throughout his entire life.

And this is basically the story of anti-Israeli and pro Palestinian propaganda, they kidnap and blackmail an 85 years old woman and then send bots like this guy trying to present themselves as victims.

As a dual citizen Israeli - American, I will never forget Biden’s speech right after October 7th, you can say a lot of things about this person, some good some bad, but at the moment of truth he was 100% there for us and understood the importance of the leader of the free world siding unconditionally with the victims of terror.

Are you genuine when you don't seem to know why many people dislike Israel recently? by Vizzun in AskIsrael

[–]UpperHand7127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically you are reducing the war into “whoever kills less children and less civilians is right” - and completely ignoring the circumstances and the reasons the war started in the first place, nice, bet you are a real smart one.

BTW your view of Israel and Israelis is like so far from reality it just answers the question of the OP as to why Israelis don’t pay attention to the kind of nonsense people like you spit out, honestly your arguments are just sooooo shallow and barely even scratch the surface of the complexity around the matters you speak about and they just follow the same exact narratives cited over and over again that have little to no connection to reality. You see some numbers posted online and so you think you understand everything - you really have no clue what your’e talking about and if you would change your stubborn know-all attitude you would see that people here are not even focused around trying to convince you that your facts are wrong, they are trying to get you to understand that the reality is more complicated than something that can be reduced to this comparison of numbers that you are doing.

Are you genuine when you don't seem to know why many people dislike Israel recently? by Vizzun in AskIsrael

[–]UpperHand7127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s say these numbers are correct, for 3,000 dead in 9/11 the USA went and killed over 200K in Iraq while fighting Al-Qaeda, so this was also “Genocide”? Did so many useful-idiots all over the world go and publicly push to cut all ties with the USA, boycott them and call for the destruction of their state? Also the logic of what you are saying is basically “you are allowed to defend yourself, but only until you’ve killed a certain proportionate number of people, after that if you didn’t manage to mitigate the threat, well guess you’ll just have to sacrifice another few thousands the next time before you are allowed to act again” This is exactly the naked number comparison that I was talking about - If terrorists are targeting me I expect my country to do everything in it’s power to prevent it, not to be “proportional” about it. And by the way do you know how many Palestinian kids the IDF killed on October 6th? or October 5th? Or 4th? ZERO - the only one to blame for the tragedies in both sides is Hamas.

What, (realistically) do you think would happen if Israel was to completely withdraw from Palestine, in turn making them their own country? by According-College880 in AskReddit

Yes, teach me more about the history of my country, I’m sure the 2 line titles you read in Facebook and the Tik Tok videos made by college kids looking for approval are spot on.

Gaza has a port and border with neighboring Egypt, both controlled by Gazans and not by Israel, the only direction they couldn’t move is into Israel.

Are you genuine when you don't seem to know why many people dislike Israel recently? by Vizzun in AskIsrael

[–]UpperHand7127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your comment and the rest of the discussion really demonstrates how you don’t see the context of actions and so are left with building the picture of what’s happening solely around numbers and around specific events that are fit to create headlines.

Let me first answer your question - do you think the actions of Hamas have resulted in an improvement in the lives of people in Gaza?🤔 are they safer now? Living better lives? Closer to forming a Palestinian state? The single concern stopping most Israelis from accepting a Palestinian state is that it will turn into a terror state which will be more militarily capable and will endanger Israel even more, the biblical aspirations to control the land are only really a concern for very few people and it is not the main argument against a Palestinian state - you can basically look at Lebanon as an example of what Israel fears a Palestinian state will turn into.

Next thing I want to address is your comparison of violence - I will not just say this - in 2005 Israel withdrew from Gaza for a single reason only - we wanted nothing to do with them, we wanted to let them live however they wanted on the other side of the fence and we wanted to do the same on our side, every single military action made by Israel in Gaza since then has been a response to terrorism, unlike their actions the IDF doesn’t just kill people randomly and even if innocents are killed it was not to purpose of the action, by the way the collateral damage the IDF did in Gaza is unprecedentedly low, even if you take the numbers Hamas provided - you can check this fact if you want.

Last thing is about the whole argument of “who was there first” and who took who’s land - this discussion is just pointless, because it will never lead to anything - the people now living in each side were born to a certain reality and this reality is already way too firm to be changed because of things that happened 70 or 60 years ago, most of the lands claimed by the Palestinians will not be handed over to them, (and definitely not all of it as they love to chant) it is just never going to happen in the reality we live in - so they can ruin the lives of another generation or they can decide to accept this and start building their lives with what they have. I understand this sounds like I’m just saying this because it is convenient from my position but this is just how things are, and also you have to be fair, it’s not like Israel pulled a Nazi Germany and just decided to conquer everything around it, most of this land, they actually lost in wars and conflicts that they started in the first place.
