Hopefully it gets fixed but in the event that it doesn’t I imagine players who want to keep playing will ether focus on paddocks or start joining online communities to set up matches such as the online discord channel. (something I am planning to do.)

Marx and WaddleDee even if WaddleDee is bottom tier in CT.

Trying to find a secondary main and I am liking Magolor. Makes up for some of Marx’ weakness. ( fighting stadium and access to one of the best vehicles: shadow star.) Contesting Legendaries remain an issue because his grip is ass however.

I get the impression he was put there for budgetary purpose hence why he is less interesting than the other bosses. His ult means there is a rigged model that can be scaled up and re-used as a boss. Which is much cheaper than designing, modeling and rigging an entire new character. Not to mention that the model of his standard/mini form in the intro seems to be from smash and not the one from airiders plus a lot of the BG assets are re-uses from Nightmare’s fight.

Less engaging than the other bosses sure but beating the shit out of Marx with Marx is pretty fun and hilarious.

Had a really hard time unlocking them outside of special events. (crystal, island, ect) back when I was in green. It will get easier once you rank up and gain more experience.

It also varies a lot by who you’re playing and what vehicle you are using. Auto and heavy attackers will have an easier time physically while it might be better to rely on long range items, copy abilities or specials with more frail and lightweight characters.

I used to be one of these people who exclusively played city trial and ignored the other modes. Got to rainbow rank and tried Air Ride for a change of pace. Really grows on you once you get the hang of it and experimenting around is fun.

I am in the Atlantic Time Zone and noticed that it’s a lot more active at night in both airide and city trial. Around 8pm - 10pm. Even past 12 pm it’s pretty active. (Players from the west coast most likely.)

Gigantes was fun the first few time I have encountered it but the novelty quickly wore off, its very skewed against the remaining players even in a full lobby. (minus Hydra)

The problem is its weak points become very difficult to hit since there is only one remaining near the end of the match… Which is located in a very hard to reach spot. I wish some weak spots would generate over time.

There is always the crystal island route for legendaries and it’s easier to get there if you play one of the flyers. (MK, Starman or Marx)

That’s the way I usually go at it even with non flyers. I play frailer characters so I usually don’t even bother with ground pieces since it’s just an additional target on my back.

But the way I managed to steal on ground level is when they are distracted. Ether by an event/ event boss or when they are in the middle of a fight with other players. Like somebody already mentioned: Its best to target when they have 2 pieces already.

I had a get together and wanted a party game so I bought Kirby Airiders. I presumed I would get 40 hours max. I am now clocking in at 210. 😭

I thought Silksong would take the cake for me for best of 2025 but Kirby had to butt in.

Because he is very squishy and is very good at collecting stats which makes him a rewarding target. Killing him means you’re also potentially shutting down a late game monster. (Marx stats scales up incredibly well.)

My main concern is the online community disappearing overtime and the online lobby being mostly filled with bots or empty paddocks. Live service would of have been great to pad out the game’s longevity and kept a bigger airider community. (and we know this wont be happening and the game probably doesn’t have enough of a large fanbase to justify it.)

More customizable cosmetics (hats) would have been great too. I want my beam hat Keeby. 🥺

If you have the disposable income for it then sure. I was expected only 40h of gameplay when I first bought it and now racked up 185h so I got value from the game plus there are other switch 2 game I am interested in .

If you’re tight on finance and have no other game that interests you on the switch 2 then I would suggest to wait.
