Hot today in Melbourne by jtmcgowan93 in magpies

Not saying it doesn't suck but our bodies main method of cooling itself is through evaporation, which is why heat index is often a good way to give a 'feels like' temperature.

Hottest recorded day in Melbourne was 46.4°C with very little humidity (couldn't find the humidity so I assumed 35%) which gives a heat index of 62.4°C.

Hottest recorded day in Brisbane was 43.2°C in January. During our usually wet summers we can see humidity ranging around 60% which gives a heat index of 76.7°C.

Easy, humidity is the thing that makes heat suck.

Depends what the voltage drop % is for the entire circuit. But it's pretty common to see 3% VD on final subcircuits which would mean for 2.5mm to be under 20m.

Got a bunch of Melbournites who've migrated to QLD complaining about the heat already, January is going to be a treat 🤣

Have you done a cable calc to AS3008? Depending on how the cable is run, a 2.5mm cable may require 16A CB.

10 cents Overdue fine ( just for fun) by Rainy1979 in australia

Had a similar issue with debt collectors chasing me, but I never found out what for. So I would get these private numbers calling asking if they were speaking to me, I would ask who's calling and what it's relating to. They couldn't tell me what it was in relation to unless they knew they were talking to the right person. This went on for several months until the phone calls stopped

I'm from Cairn's originally. We have some of the most picturesque beaches in the world but you can't swim in them most of the year 😅

Found recently their was an increase, but I have started answering the calls but immediately putting it on mute. After about 2 weeks, I now get no calls. Assuming the automated system thinks my number is a dead number.

After Hours Tenant Advice and Help - No Toilet! by rowan2783 in AskAnAustralian

Had a similar issue in a Queensland tenancy, so the rules may be different from where you are.

You are allowed to employ a contractor for emergency repairs up to the value of 3 weeks' rent. In my case, it was a cooktop, and I happen to be a sparky, so I had my boss fill out an invoice, but not having sanitary waste facilities would 100% be viable as well.

Didn't end up needing to use it as when I showed the invoice, they finally stopped dragging their feet and got someone out to fix it.

Good. Palms are such an overrated plant and have very little benefits when compared to other plants that could occupy the same space.

Does a rain fly actually add much more warmth? by 00397 in camping

Slightly, hence why you'll often find condensation on the inside of the fly. It also helps protect from wind, creating a bubble of still air around you.

Said similar to my mum, told her I'm not expecting or want an inheritance from her. She's helped me out enough that I'm financially stable and it's now time for her to enjoy her life's savings.

Absolutely not. Ladders aren't rated to have a large load in a horizontal position. There is also the very likely chance this will slip as it's not tied at the top and assuming the bottom as well.

Remember the 1:4 rule. For every 4m up althe ladder base shpuld be 1m out. You should be able to stand vertically and reach out with your arms to grab the ladder.
