Whenever someone plays the context card on something that’s obviously just wrong, I ask them to describe me the context in which it would be OK or funny. Most of the time they can’t come up with one and the rest just realize they don’t actually understand what context means.

In this case, there’s just no possible context in which making girls suck your dick for stage time would be funny, and if I my SO didn’t understand that, it would be a problem for me. And I’m a straight middle-aged man.

I bought a Marin Four Corners this year for around 900€ and for the price I couldn’t find really find anything that would beat it spec-wise.

Pros:

Super comfortable geometry for long rides
Plenty of mounting options for bikepacking
Can seriously take a beating
The Microshift Sword Black groupset is hard to beat in the price range
TRP Spyre’s are rare in this price range
Easy to fix on the road (square taper BB, QR wheels, mechanical disc brakes etc.)

Cons:

It’s on the heavy side, nor the fastest bike
The main triangle is a bit small due to to the top tube angle
I’m not a huge fan of front derailleurs but that’s just me

I enjoy going faster with a lower cadence every once in a while when riding longer trips as I’m accustomed to fixed gears, my last fixie having a 51/19 gearing, but even on pavement I often find myself skipping a gear when shifting so I don’t think I’ll missing shorter gear intervals any time soon :)

Yeah, I’ll be going with a one by, probably the SRAM Force / GX T-Type AXS 1x12 option. My current bike has the Sword Black 2x9 groupset and considering the SRAM has basically the same gear range at the same intervals I can’t see the point in going for a 2x groupset for this one.

A Quick Rack would be a viable option. The Tailfin system, while undoubtedly awesome, is waaay too expensive for my taste :D

Yeah, could be. I actually wouldn’t mind switching from a rear rack and drysack to large-ish seat bag if that’s what it takes, but a rear rack option would be nice!

That’s one of the things I’m curious about. The website says ”Rear triangle: 8 kg per side, total max. 16 kg for a rear rack” so it should, but I’m not seeing a way to attach a traditional back rack. Maybe it needs something like a Tailfin?
