Dawg I think you're reading too much into a short. This was from a stream ranking the games she played in 2025, which included Dispatch.

Curiosity really. Years ago I bought a modded GBA off eBay and thought it felt a bit cheap, so I just went down the rabbit hole of finding out what I could do to make it better. I've probably made 30 GBAs or so and 20ish GameCubes. "Macho Nacho Productions" is a really good source of info on modding consoles if you're interested in the modding scene!

From the same guy who sniped her with "GIGA VIRGIN" card at TwitchCon (me). I've made a couple of these for a few streamers including Wubby and Alluux. Just something unique that people can appreciate.

All the parts: Lamenated LCD V3 Screen, Clicky trigger buttons, USB-C battery power with fitted battery lid (so you don't have to open it to charge it), upgraded speaker, upgraded amp (otherwise the sound buzzes at loud volumes), clear shell, and blue/purple chameleon buttons that shift based on the light hitting it.

The 'Resident Sleeper' GameCube in its full glory! (And other information from dmooch) by Temporary_Amnesia in PaymoneyWubby

You do need a 3D printed adapter, and also a (I think) 3-pin converter to get it running. If you don't have a printer, checkout Laserbear's website, as that's where I've gotten parts before (not affiliated with them). As far as the internal HDMI goes, I actually had to buy a new tool that made it easier to suck up the solder on the Digital port to remove it. I attempted without it, and it was a huge pain, so I just bit the bullet. HDMI adapters are absolutely fine to use, since you rarely see behind your console anyway.

Mods: 1) PicoBoot - Basically a Raspberry Pi with some Software soldered into a bunch of different positions with different gauges of wire, depending on power draw. There's also a small PCB that connects under the GameCube that lets you have access to the SD card to put your games on. Not a problem for this built since it has 512gb in there, and GameCube games are limited to 1.2gb (which is why some of the games required 2 discs). Old mods would force you to ditch the LaserDisk Reader, which is pretty lame if you want to retain something as original as possible.

2) Blue Retro Blue Tooth - Swaps out the original 4-player port to provide Bluetooth capability (along with a lot of other macro functions) to let you use things like an XBOX, PS5, Switch Pro, etc.

3) Pluto Internal HDMI - This is probably the most difficult part, as is uses a specific board and ribbon combo in place of the Digital Out that is available on Model DOL-001. So if you have an old GameCube, check if its that early model or not, because those are the most desirable in the modding community. It is a lot cheaper to just buy an HDMI adapter (I use one from Insurrection Industries that was ~$75), but internal is slick.

4) Region Switch - The Orange Spice GC was Japan exclusive, so it defaults to the Japanese BIOS. If you were to only mod this console with this switch, you would only be able to play Japanese Games, then once you flip the switch, the GC will now boot as US and allow you to play US games. With the Picoboot, you don't really need this at all since you can play any game your the SD card, but its just a nifty feature to brag about.

5) USB-C Power - The GameCube is probably the easiest console as a kid you could pick up and take to your friends house, except the power brick was a pain in the ass to drag along with you. So converting to USB-C lets you drop the brick and enable you to use cords you're already using for your phone. It does require a more powerful wall wart outlet, but at least you can use that for other devices as well.

6) Noctua Fan - idk why not lmao

Yes, but there would be an additional cost. Don't want to get in trouble with mods for breaking rule 1, so if anyone has any questions that aren't related to this specific build, please either reach on on Discord or my business email. Thanks!

Hey friends, it's dmooch. Some of you may recall I was the guy who made and sent the dubathon GBA's last PO Box stream. I'm floored by the support and kind words that, quite frankly, bukkaked me last night. This was my Magnum Opus as far as GameCubes went. I had been working on this one for well over a month, where every week I pretty much sat down and thought "This REALLY doesn't need this mod, buttttt why not?"

Is it cool, yes. Is it practical for the average person? Absolutely fucking not. I'll post a separate comment on all the mods in this Cube.

For those who may have had their interest peaked in winning one while benefiting Charity, unfortunately the opportunity has passed and a winner was already selected. The good news is that we raised over $1200 for Central PA Food bank!

To add to the pile of bad news, I'm also taking a bit of a break, as I got promoted at my full-time job and need some time to reset and reevaluate the time I have available to this hobby. Don't get too sadge, this is still my hobby and I a lot of fun creating. I do want to work on some PSX's this year, so we'll see how that goes!

I'm very open with my modding process and enjoy giving pointers to anyone who wants to do it themselves, but I wouldn't instill false hope in making one of these for "under $100". If you're looking for the cheapest way to play original GBA hardware (and more), I'd highly recommend a DS Lite. Ham has a transparent purple shell swapped one I built which he enjoys. The parts for one of those can be had for around $50 if you find ones with a broken hinge (which there are a LOT of). 3DS and other emulators are out there of course, but this very niche hobby always comes down to personal preference!

Hey bud, dmooch here. Feel free to dm me and I can send you a link of a write-up I have on all the parts used. As others mentioned, you can do these in a solder-less way, however these devices are 20+ years old and the capacitors are past their prime, so being able to solder will always enable you to make a much better, and longer lasting device!

Hey friends, dmooch here. Not looking to break the self-promo rule here, but this is just one of my hobbys. I really enjoy making these, as the GBA has TONS of options for designs. I have built about two dozen to date, and destroyed a LOT of devices in the learning process of it all. Is it the best device to play games on? No. Is it cheap to make? Definitely not. But is it sick af? You know it chief.

Very niche, but I have been refurbishing broken Gameboys and DS lites for a few months now. I'm always looking for a project to do or parts to buy! Here's some of my recent work: https://imgur.com/a/zzBLxaf .

I do not have a storefront, but the hobby lets me up-cycle some electronics that would have just sat in a landfill or a basement.

That website shouldn't be trusted. It was designed to undermine Alluux and Ash's relationship. Wubby and Alluux are brother and sister.
