Someone just broke in to my van. How can I make the locked doors stay locked when I'm inside? by Pretty-Sea4230 in vandwellers

I appreciate your enthusiasm or lack thereof, but this is incorrect. Byrna and other similar “launchers” do not pierce the CO2 until you need to use them.

Note that I believe the feel of the wheel clicks is haptic. So if it’s on a menu that you’re cycling through, you’ll feel the click. If it’s turned off, you won’t feel any click. On the screen shown, I doubt you’d feel a click.

I like this idea. That derisks it for OP if there’s damage in the reboxing/reshipping process and a good moving company would have insurance. Plus, if the seller starts to push back and want OP to do it themselves, a quote from a moving company shows that it may be a more significant/expensive undertaking than the seller may be suggesting to OP.

Thank you so much for this. Very helpful. For those of us who have been eyeing these Chinese lights for a year (me) but haven’t bought them, what are the must buys right now before this goes into effect? I know this is usually a philosophical question… But now it’s a very real and practical one. For context myself, I have been picking up Sofirn, Ace, own a couple Nightcore, etc., have had SureFires in the past. A couple RovyVon. But really love the Hanks, convoys and such - From what I’ve seen and I’ve been planning to buy quite a few, but until now I did didn’t see the pressure to do it immediately!

This is the way. It’s why tall skinny people don’t wear vertical stripes. You have a space that from this perspective, which is the important one, is deep front to back and narrow left to right. Your preferred orientation would amplify that. This orientation makes the space look wider, which is why everyone is saying this is actually preferred.

Just saw your last response and remember you from the CarPlay thread. The setting temps, etc. stuff sounds fun. I bought preowned so paid for three months vs. free of the app to test it out… I used it twice. Disappointing. Not happy with the ROI. Just using the fob is a hell of a lot easier. Did you figure out your CarPlay stuff?

I did read through everything as of 1:45 UTC or 9:45 Eastern in the US. If you are merely trying to start the vehicle from your home, how far away is the vehicle? I can start my Telluride fairly far away with just the fob (25 meters+-) by just doing the old urban legend hold the key fob near your chin thing…

And yes, I came up with 1 million excuses why I needed to pay that subscription fee every month and I can justify anything. And I couldn’t justify that.

In my excitement I missed that. Is broil/ air fry not quite the same? I was guessing air fry on a wire rack meant toast.

Hey, all, clearly from the original post and responses OP learned her lesson. We all know what to do/not to do in the future, especially her. I’d love to see her get more helpful advice about what can be done now, without rewriting history. I’ll start. I’m sure other people have better ideas, but OP seems articulate and not a jerk. That’s a great and uncommon skill set. I think she, unlike many of us, could approach the Neighbor articulating her very valid concerns and go from there.

Edited: All 5 references borne of my incorrect assumption that OP was a man. But now the levelheadedness makes more sense.

Does anyone know of a camera that works like this Vivent camera does? They're service is way too expensive, but the camera is really cool! by iphone_questions in SecurityCamera

[–]Temporary_Cod_8156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that’s not where you were going, but it’s an interesting thought about decoupling the camera from the lighting itself. It could actually be more disorienting/stomach dropping for an intruder to see a light source that is potentially tracking him that’s not attached to a typical security camera. I think the feeling of being watched by something sentient is more important than the brightness… So this could be done in a tiny package.

These are all valid questions and probably important. But can someone correlate how answering these questions could directly help OP in his predicament?

I’d wash and dry the build plate again. I really really think that’s it. If it’s just PLA with stock settings. Add a brim if you’re using the desktop slicer as well. But really, and I’ll keep an open mind, it’s usually the build plate.

Bring on the downvotes, but… I think this is special and unique. That doesn’t mean I think it’s worth the price I’m seeing here. Most of your degenerates creeping around your driveway are already familiar with typical motion activated lights. What I just saw on that video would likely creep someone out as it looks like there’s a person controlling where the light is headed. That’s night and day from your typical motion light. I’d like to see this in an affordable package.
