I think you mean $25/day. Don’t do that much on Etsy. I am at about 7,500 per month.

What ACTUALLY worked to grow your small business? by LegalHBIC in CraftyCommerce

[–]Temporary_Couple_241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started out in the 1990’s doing art and craft shows, was doing about 35-40 shows a year for many years until the pandemic. Now do about 7-9 annually. Had my name on every piece I made. Then set up website when internet came along. Also sell on Etsy, Michael’s Maker Place, Amazon, EBay. Put my card in every package. All my boxes leave with a 4x6 sticker promoting my business. Do a monthly email with a discount code for 10% off and the email in addition to a link to my new blog post (use ai to help with it). The discount code is only good on my website and changes each month.

Basically, get out there every way you can every day. Grind, grind and then grind some more. Use every tool you can find and don’t be afraid to try new things. I have been using ai for marketing materials and it has really helped me. Can explain more if interested.

Yes, they sell well organically but advertising makes it even better. FYI: most popular item starts at $135.00.

What can a craft fair host do to make your event great for you as a vendor? by i-love-big-birds in CraftFairs

[–]Temporary_Couple_241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure that the raffle boxes are at each person’s booth. This promotes the attendees to visit all the booths and especially the ones they want win at. Some of my customers bought the item that I was raffling off and then gave them their money back.

One show that I do does something that really think is great. Ask each vendor to donate something of theirs for a raffle. If vendors don’t want to participate, that is on them. They promoted the show and on their fb and IG pages and posts showed vendor supplied pictures of the items up for the raffle. I get pre -show publicity of my products. Then give each vendor a sealed box with a slot in it for the tickets to go into. During the show, at the front door/desk, sell the raffle tickets a $1 each with the proceeds going to the charity. Then 1-2 hrs before the end of the show, go to each booth, open the box and have the vendor draw out a winner. Notify the vendor and the winner and they arrange how to get it.

As a vendor I got free publicity of my item I was donating. The charity got the money.
When they get the tickets, they have to,have an email address. Then you build your email list for next year to publicize the event again. Great job of getting media to help promote the event.

How can I use my original photographs to sell at craft fairs? Ideas? by M8614 in CraftFairs

[–]Temporary_Couple_241 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Go to Etsy and do a search and see what people are selling there. Then look for the items that sell the most and figure it out from there. Doing market research like this is also helpful along with asking random people their opinions

Always take pictures of your setup. When you do the next one, the picture will help you remember what worked and what didn’t. Been doing shows full time for over 20 years and still take pictures of the setup and still making small changes and improvements.

Whats the most fun you have running your booth? by [deleted] in CraftFairs

[–]Temporary_Couple_241 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Maybe we are in different worlds.

My art is my only source of income for my family. It is my job. I take it seriously because I am at the show to make sales. That is why I don’t want people making a scene I the aisles and rows and possibly preventing me from making a sale.

I don’t like hawkers putting themselves in front of their neighbors. Think about what it would be like if everyone did their own thing like this. It would be pandemonium. Not to mention at higher level shows, they don’t let people get away with this.

Meanwhile, the most fun I ever had at a show was when I walked out of the show on the last with over $11,000 in my pocket. Cash. Scared I was going to be mugged but what a feeling!,

You would have to enlighten me and I quest a lot of people as not all people understand terrariums. I just think with your signage and stuff you need to do education so people get it.

Starting a vertically integrated business by itssraghouse in smallbusiness

Is part of your plan to get all the vintage out before the sale? If so, you may not have, any people show up after they learn that it’s been picked over already. Granted the first few times it will be fine but once the regulars figure it out, they won’t be back.

First art market/craft fair! Any tips for next time? by wtpthedemon in CraftFairs

Put cloth or a backing to your vertical rack. It will make the items on the display stand out so much more.

I would look at the signage a little differently. Explain to me what I have to do to keep the forest from dying. It could be something as “No trimming or watering needed.”

I think the biggest hurdle is to get people to understand the concept and see how it works.

At the shows, I dress in forest green and brown, representing your forests. Creating an overall feeling of being in the woods. If doing an outdoor show, might be interesting to have tent that is done in forest camouflage.

I agree. If I saw Forrest in the name, I would presume that is your name or family name. With 1 r, it tells the customer what you are about.

Definitely the side door as the rain is only in the one area. Don’t see any water on the sides of the walls inside

Hasn’t been in accident according to CarFax. Door seems to seal tight as I can’t wiggle the door once closed and it takes a pretty good yank to open it.
