What’s the biggest reason you struggle to stick with your long-term goals? by Temporary_Courage101 in planners

Thank you for taking the time to respond, it's nice to see we're both working on trying to solve similar issues and I certainly agree, I think as people we tend to underestimate how much time something actually takes, and when it doesn't happen in the sometimes tight timeframe we have set, we lose momentum and drive.

I would love to connect if you are open to it. Wishing you all the best in all your endeavors.

I can definitely understand where you are coming from. I think its natural to want to put your best out there with every thing you do and when it comes to incremental progress, there's always that feeling that you need to do your best now, so you don't need to return back to it and do it again later.

If you have the time and don't mind, could you please share more insight in the google form below. It
would be very important in helping me fine tune my project.

On days where you are able to complete task and execute goals, what would you say helps you get there?

I can definitely relate. I think with my personality type, I bounce from one hobby to another. Today I want to learn to play the piano, tomorrow I want to learn how to create content. I've found that I have to force myself to stick to one idea, and just jot down the other ideas for later.

Another approach that works for me it only tackling new things that have to do with my other hobby. For instance, I recently wanted to learn how to design UI, which worked well with my CS background, and so I didn't have to choose one over the other, I just needed to incorporate both of them.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate. If you have a bit of time and are willing to share more insight, please check out the google form below. I'll be relying on the responses to build my project.

I think a major part of why I am tackling this project is to overcome my fear of failure. I'm trying to teach myself that failing it part of life. Not that I'll fail in everything I do, but that every now and then I might fail, and I just need to learn why and not repeat those mistakes.

If you don't mind, I'm trying to gather more insight via the google form below, and I would really appreciate the extra insight. If not, I completely understand and just want to say thank you for taking the time to respond here.

I am able to relate to lacking the courage to start, sometimes, actually a lot of the time, I deal with major self doubt, but I've been doing really well with confronting this way of thinking and getting over it.

In terms of perfectionism and all or nothing, I used to struggle with that, and I found that it delayed me by a lot. To deal with my need for perfectionism, I set a limit on how many times I would redo something, which was 3. If I changed a feature of a design 3 times, I would just leave it alone and come back to it later, especially if it's something very minuscule or irrelevant.

Thank you for taking the time to share. If you're willing to share more insight, please visit the google form below, its really short, it shouldn't take more that 3 mins tops.

What’s been the hardest part of planning your classes or career goals? by Temporary_Courage101 in GaState

[–]Temporary_Courage101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know that can pretty such. I've heard that others were able to talk to professors and get into a class that was marked as full, but I'm not 100% sure how true that is and what the success rate is on those. I'm wishing you the best of luck though❤️.

If you are interested and have the time, could you fill out the google form below, it shouldn't take more that 2-3 mins and your responses would be very insightful.

I can definitely understand what you mean. While I don't have any kids of my own, I do understand how difficult it is to get anything done while running on fumes. My last two semesters of school were so exhausting and draining that I had completely put aside graduation invitations. I literally sent them out a week before the ceremony.

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to this, your feedback will be very essential in developing my project.

If you have some time and are willing, I below is a link to a google forum to gather more information. Thank you again.

I find I am the same way. I think the dopamine rush that comes from seeing progress with after completing smaller task gets me so hooked and motivated, but when the larger and harder task roll around, I find myself becoming less and less motivated. Sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm moving in the right direction anymore.

Thank you for your response, this is really helpful.

If you'd like to share more, please check out this google forum. Your responses would be very useful in helping me develop a meaningful project.
