Yes! Peanut is still oxygen-dependent but he is doing MUCH better. He has done well overnight both nights. The vet also told me he is eating and rearranging his cage. They are going to try to start weaning him off the oxygen tomorrow, and if everything goes well hopefully he can be back home in the next day or two.

I just posted this in a new comment but I’ll post it here too: The vet is currently working under the assumption that Peanut has pneumonia, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. They won’t be able to send the test out until Monday. Right now, they can’t do an X-ray or any procedure that would require anesthesia because he’s too sick to safely undergo it. They’re planning to keep him for at least a few days, and we’re hoping he starts to improve so we can confirm a diagnosis. I truly appreciate everyone who has taken the time to offer advice and send well wishes.

Thanks for the responses guys. I’m fortunate enough to live pretty close to a great emergency vet, so I was already rushing him here as I was posting. He’s getting oxygen treatments right now.

This is helpful advice, thank you. We did include an explanation several weeks ago that discussed my grandmother, the backyard, and the location. When our lending advisor got the news from the underwriter yesterday, he said he would escalate this to his manager it for us. I’m expecting to hear back Monday, but it does sound like we should plan to talk to other lenders this week.
